The food is very authentic, just wish the portions more generous. Also wish they can hired more kitchen help, we called at 5pm on a Sunday when we showed up at 6pm for pick up we still have to wait another 12 minutes.I like Oakland tea house but wish they could do better.

The bao bun was PERFECT! Some of the best pork i’ve ever had and the cucumbers under the pork made for the perfect crunch. The salty crispy chicken was delectable. Perfect crunch and flavor. The lady who ran the counter so friendly, helpful, and had a great attitude. Such a wonderful experience!

This was my boyfriend and I's first time at Oakland Tea House. We came because our typical go to restaurant was closed today, but we have a new favorite in the rotation. The kind lady serving/taking orders greeted us warmly and showed us how to use their menu system as well as a variety of photos from their instagram with pictures of popular dishes. She was very kind and asked if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions, as well as our spice-level when ordering a "spicy" dish.We both also got a smoothie and milk tea which were very good. I LOVED the potstickers and he liked his spicy ramen bowl. There was a cucumber salad with my "salty chicken" which I would order as its own side in the future with just the very filling potstickers. The women's bathroom was very clean and had a sturdy changing table, accessible friendly handlebars and even a rotating chair that you could sit in if you have mobility issues while washing hands/if you have POTS/etc.They started to have lots of guests as we were heading out and I definitely see why! We will definitely be returning! Thank you so much for making our Valentine's dinner a bit sweeter ❤️Dietary restrictions: Asked us about allergies, had vegetarian options and seemed to have the ability to accommodate if need be.

Excellent food, clean establishment, and very friendly staff. Looks unassuming from the outside, but inside is a gem of a restaurant. Highly recommend trying this place instead of your regular takeout spot.

After eating here several times, my most recent experience was my last at this restaurant, because I've had enough. Coming from someone who worked years at a mom and pop restaurant, I'm not impatient when dining out, as I can understand the stress behind the scenes. I can forgive the slower service here, (from 15 minutes waiting to place an order to probably 40+ minutes until you actually get your order) because it's just two people working the counter, takeout, serving, and kitchen. I'd advise against going at peak meal times or with a large group. They cannot handle consistent traffic with walk-ins and takeout orders combined, with just two people working. And definitely don't come here if you're hangry, because you'll only get exponentially hangrier. If it's your first time visiting, the ordering process is confusing. From the moment you walk in, you don't know if you order at the counter or if you sit down first. With that said, the attitude from the woman at the counter is unacceptable. It's not even about customer service at this point. I don't expect constant smiles or warmth, but I do expect to be treated like a person.Expect to stand at the counter with your order sheet while she ignores you for who knows how long, while she's cheerily making small talk with the customers that are leaving or picking up their takeout order. At my most recent visit, after standing waiting for some time, I tried to go to my table to wait. She raised her voice at me and condescendingly scolded me with "HEY, HELLO!! Come back here." Excuse me? Since when did I become a child waiting in time-out; I thought I was waiting to place an order? Really leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The food itself is okay. It's cozy like what your grandma would make. However, each time I've had the milk tea here, it's tasted different, with the last time being too milky and watery, and no tea flavor whatsoever.I'm all for supporting local AAPI businesses and local businesses in general, but my patience has run its course with this one. Seeing all the positive reviews here, maybe I've been catching them at the wrong time or day? Who knows, but I hope others will have better experiences than I did.

The restaurant is clean and the service was great. The food was okay. The salted chicken tasted better with the sauces. The dumplings were bland. I've had better. The teriyaki gua bao was good.

Visited Oakland Tea House tonight for dinner with the entire family. Amazing food!!! We ordered the Dan Dan Noodles, pork belly and rice, Spicy Beef and Tofu, Beef in Noodle soup (beef was cooked perfectly ?) and crispy chicken. SO good. The shrimp wontons were especially delicious and the pork pastries were ? The owners are incredibly welcoming and hospitable. Ask them what their specials are. 100% coming here again.

Best taiwanese food around this area! Also owner is very friendly and family friendly. Menu is not expansive but good options. It’s self service and you pay first but I don’t mind. Sometimes they don’t have certain things on the menu and it can be annoying or that they are randomly closed but you can call beforehand to check.
