Dollar General Bay City is a neighborhood general store offering everyday low prices on a wide variety of items, from food and household supplies to seasonal products and beer. It is praised for its convenience and wonderful employees. However, customers report frustration with frequent discrepancies between posted sale prices and actual checkout costs, leading to abandoned purchases. The store's reliance on a card-only self-checkout, often due to being short-staffed, is also a common point of criticism despite the overall appreciation for the store's convenience and product selection.
I hate that they have a self-checkout register and it only accepts cards. And it only seems to be the only register available to use. There's rarely anybody at the other register. I understand they are short-staffed, but I blame Dollar General for not paying their employees a fair wage so people will want to work there.

I love my local DG. They have everything I need, without having to travel unnecessarily! Some prices are higher than the other stores, but again it's convenient not to travel unnecessarily.

The employees were wonderful every time I shopped!!Unfortunately, EVERY visit I put 80%+ of my cart back on the shelves because the posted sales where the items were shelved, weren't legitimate. I'm over it
