I don't know how there are any positive reviews based on my and my guests experience. The "famous" mushroom soup was flavored cream colored with kitchen bouquet and so incredibly salty nobody could eat it. Both pasta and steak were ordered by my party. Again nobody could chew through much of anything. The staff couldn't have cared less about offering more drinks or checking to see if their product met expectations. NEVER AGAIN.

This is the spot for dining during sunset. We sat outdoors; not crowded. We were there mid-week in August. Service was good. We both had the mushroom bisque soup which was fantastic. Wife had whitefish with risotto and asparagus. Fish was good, not over seasoned. Risotto was fine, the asparagus is great. I had a ribeye, asparagus, and "dauphinoise" potatoes. The potatoes were like a piece of a pie and they were great. Steak was good, tender, some nice crust from the grill. For dessert we had a pound cake and I had some kind of rum/ice cream parfait. Both very good. Price is on par for a good steakhouse.

First time visiting the Sunset Restaurant at Beaver Island Lodge. The food was fantastic. We started with the oysters and stuffed shrimp small plates. Both were delicious. For my entrée, I went with the white fish, which I really enjoyed. We were seated on the patio, which offered a stunning view. The waitstaff was friendly and very attentive. Overall dining experience was 5 stars. Definitely planning on dining there during my next visit to Beaver Island.

Doesn’t allow dogs on patio, not even a 5lb one. Host was incredibly rude.

Went to this restaurant for our 40th anniversary. It came highly recommended as probably one of the best around for excellent food. With regard to the food... It was excellent. I had the scallops and my wife had the risotto. The presentation was four-star. The preparation was four-star. The taste was absolutely fantastic... Four star. With regard to the service... The young man from Jamaica, who waited on our table, did an absolutely terrific job. We were very pleased with his attention to us and attention to detail. He did a great job. With regard to ambience and overall look and feel... One star. And one star is a bit of a gift. When you pull into the restaurant and walk to the entrance door, you will see that it has not been touched with regard to any type of maintenance or updating in at least 20 years. The inside is very highly dated and has water stains all over the cedar wood. There was zero circulation in the front room and I believe air conditioners are either completely broken or nonexistent. And when you come to dinner in dress clothing and your dinner bill for two people totals $200, it would be nice to have a comfortable atmosphere in which to eat.The owner needs to pay a whole lot, more attention to the look and feel and atmosphere and ambience of this restaurant. As far as recommendation... The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. But you would likely be very underwhelmed with the overall look and feel of the restaurant itself.

Love this spot- great view, friendly servers, great food. We enjoyed dinner 3 nights in a row, and still had more items that we would have liked to try. We shared entrees, so we could enjoy the variety of tasty salads and starters. Over 3 nights, we enjoyed both the Lodge and Roasted beets salads; the mushroom bisque, the roasted carrots and the fried feta starters; and the scallops, rack of lamb, and sake poached lobster pasta dishes. And since it was May (Michigans asparagus season), we had a side of grilled asparagus each night! Liam and Johann were great servers, and owner Eric was on hand each evening to welcome us. Sunset restaurant at Beaver Island Lodge is one of the reasons we enjoy coming to Beaver Island.

The food has always been exceptional for us in 2023, 2022 and 2015 and 2019. This year we ate there three times in 2023 and we had a lovely scallop dish on risotto, poached lobster over pasta and once we had a delicious rack of lamb. The salads and asparagus were scrumptious. And the view...amazing.

What a great experience! Beautiful setting overlooking the water, great food, great service. Had the stuffed calamari and wife had the stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp-both were outstanding! Liam was our server-he was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable of the menu. We left a different restaurant on the island unable to get served-what a blessing in disguise!

LOVED the view sitting outside and our waitress was sweet! But the food was pretty terrible for the price, and the expensive chocolate martini only filled half of the glass :(. And the decor inside is even worse. And the bathroom? The weirdest - wish I would’ve take a picture - it was like one-person bathroom with an additional lock-off toilet.

Outstanding. This is the only fine dining restaurant on the island, and I promise you they won't disappoint. The menu is simple, but more than enough. The staff is awesome. We sat outside to see the sunset, and it got really windy, so the staff came em mass and relocated us to the inside with perfect attention. The bar tender, Jay, was an expert master of his craft! I thought I was at the Ritz-Carlton. Fine dining in the middle of the wilderness!

Ok food. Over priced. The view of the sunset thru the trees was great. lol Not . Service was awesome. Young kids basically running the place are doing a great job. Waiter was very friendly and professional.
