I showed the stylist the exact cut and style I wanted. She clarified with me exactly what I liked about the picture. She then did exactly the opposite. I wanted length, layering and volume. She whacked 12" (not an exaggeration) off which took my hair to the base of my skull then proceeded to give me a bob with short bangs. I've never been so angry over a haircut in my life. I would not allow her to do anything more to me. I contacted the owner of the salon who chose not to respond. Had I received a response, I would have left a better review, but clearly the owner doesn't care either.

I have been here twice and like the service every time. They are nice and do very good hair. My hair is always done fast and I don't have to wait under the dryer a long time. Good services

I have been coming to this salon to be serviced from the nail tech that they have in the spa for the past 4 to 5 mths. The first two times I was serviced from the nail tech (Latrice) it was extremely noticeable how unbalanced her energy was with me. I thought it was because I was a new client to her, but that wasn't the case. Fast forward to today the 29th of August. I had to get a nail repaired because of the way she lays her acrylic. So under the nail is leftover acrylic that wasn't filed away correctly. Now I called her 2days after she did my nails to tell her about the snagging of the nails on my clothes and when I try washing my hair. She then told me that she was with a client and that she would call me back. Never received a call back. The very next day my index finger nail broke so I called her immediately and told her that the nail had broke. She was with a client again and told me that she would call me back. When she called back she scheduled me for Thursday at 1pm. I arrived she fixed my nail with an attitude. Once she completed, her cheap unprofessional ass tells me that the repair of the nail was free but she needed to speak with me outside. She then tells me that due to the way my nails grow that she feels like she's not the nail tech for me. Now my problem with her was the manor in which she chose to handle me and how she tried changing things and made it seem like because the shape of my nails is the reason why her work is how it is and why my nails turn out the way they do. Bullshit! This is a prime example of why black businesses don't have longevity!!! I am a black woman. I thought I was excited about supporting a black nail Tech. She is full of shit with her cheap nickel and dimeing ass. I wouldn't let her do my damn dog's nails!

This is one of the best salons in Michigan. Very professional, skilled, and personable. Nikki has a special gift of hair design, style, and using the correct products for each individual client. She is also Professional hair trainer for other hair salons and stylist.

A smug, dismissive demeanor is not the way to gain new clients but this is the time we live in. The attitude of the salon owner makes me want to give zero stars. I have seen people attempt to take advantage of customers before and this experience goes into that category. When I got to the salon I was told that the price was triple what I expected. My caregiver was nice enough to write this review for me. This was an awful experience and the owner/stylist did not offer appropriate concessions for her lack of communication. I do not recommend because of poor service. 1. I am disabled and always ask as many questions as possible because I need to make sure I am accomodated. 2. This was the first experience I had with this salon so any business owner worth their salt would make sure a new client who calls and emails is aware of their business policies. Sadly this was not the case at Salon Simply Beautiful. I was told that the miscommunication on the part of the salon would be reconciled with a $7.50 discount that I could utilize on a future appointment. Which means I would have to pick another day to spend more money than was communicated to me in the first place and the Salon owner Nicki told me "gas is very cheap now" after I explained to her that a 10% discount would not even cover the transportation cost. I don't see the value in insulting someone the way she did. Even after I explained to her that as a disabled person I have to pay a caregiver to drive me places - it's not just gas. Nikki was insensitive and dismissive even though she claimed to offer a solution. If the solution is not reasonable it is not a true solution. Offering to do my hair at triple the price is not a reasonable solution. I emailed several times and called trying to understand the service, and she never stated that the service was more or less a la carte. She never asked what type of style I was interested in, whether I had natural hair or otherwise, and never explained that there was additional cost for a wash even after I asked her if I needed to come with my hair washed and blow dried not understanding the needs of a new client shows poor business acumen and is irresponsible as a business owner yet Nicki acted as though it was my problem not hers. It is possible that she will respond to this review in an unkind way because she alluded to that when I told her I would be letting folks know as best as I can about this poor experience. Before I left she thanked me for my "opinion" even though I only restated facts to her. Again, a smug, dismissive demeanor is not the way to gain new clients but this is the time we live in. I do not recommend this service provider. Again thank you to my care provider for helping me to write this review.
