Hours: Yad Ezra is a community gem and the only 100% kosher certified food bank in metro Detroit. Run entirely by dedicated volunteers, the food bank goes the extra mile to serve its clients. Clients must sign up first, and be aware of the food bank's irregular hours and closures on Jewish holidays. While clients can only visit once a month, they receive a generous distribution of items including chicken, ground beef, cheese, baked goods, eggs, toilet paper, household goods, baby items, produce, and non-perishables. The food bank is praised for its smart and good application of donor gifts, meeting the needs of many families and seniors facing hunger. Clients describe the staff as wonderful, friendly, and helpful, with a wonderful kosher food pantry experience.
