Horrible people, rip you off, have to argue with them to credit money back when returning a car early and in time. Don’t risk renting from them. People are rude.

Thank you Birmingham location. Our business has been in search of a new rental company for a few years now. Chanelle and Shannon were really easy to work with. Chanelle helped me get roughly a dozen reservations set up and Shannon was there to distribute the vehicles the other day, and help me get them returned. And even though I was a little late getting the cars back, Shannon was very helpful and waited for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Will continue to come back here. Great staff.

Made a reservation, showed up they told me too bad no car for me. Never gave me a "heads up" call or anythingWaited until a return came in and then they refused to honor my rate. Would give zero stars if I could.Person at the front desk was on a power trip and provided zero assistance in the matter

We have rented vehicles from this location many times and I am always delighted. Channelle & Shannon are the sh*t!! Thank you for making me smile. You both made my day. Who would think renting a car would be so fun!? I hope you continue to bring smiles to all your customers faces! This location is always our family’s “go-to” place when we need a rental. Customers for life!

I had a great experience at this budget car rental location. Everything was seamless. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. The whole process took just a few minutes. Will be back!

I will never rent from this establishment again. Front office staff would not provide the name of the owner - only said I have no idea what his last name. I wanted to politely request the late fees they were charging be removed. I rented a vehicle for an extended period because my car was damaged when a tree fell on it. The person that helped me rent the car was also the person that took the car in when it was returned. She NEVER once told me nor provided any documents that said they would charge a daily late fee beyond my rental term.They never made any effort to satisfy me as a client so I will spread the word - do not use this establishment - there are better rental agencies, with better prices and employees that care and are polite.

This is independently operated location. Was told by lady manager. I returned a full size Van I picked up from Chicago Airport. I filled up the tank before I returned. This lady on purpose put 1.2 Gallon short so that I get charged for full tank of gas. This I noticed once I asked her for receipt. Upon questioning, she tried to put the blame on Chicago Budget. Be very careful of what you get charged…they are cheating people. I called Budget Customer Care to get this charge cancelled.

Every time we call Budget customer service we get the run around. We were given a rental car with no spare tire or inflation kit. Unfortunately we didn’t know this until we got a flat tire. When we got the flat tire we called Budget’s road side phone number and it was out of service. Luckily we had a very nice police officer from Cocoa, Florida try to help us. We couldn’t do anything without the spare tire. I’m furious that my three children and mother all had to wait on the side of a busy highway for over 3 hours then watch all of their belongings they had on the trip towed away. My entire family then had to ride in the back of a police car to a hotel for the night. My kids were reassured that we would get their suitcases and belongings in the morning. In the morning we went to the impound lot where our car was towed and we could not get access to our belongings unless Budget sent a fax allowing us too. After talking to 3 different people from Budget they would not agree to give us our belongings. I knew I could not drive my kids 20 hours home with only the clothes on their back. My mother also needed to get her medication for diabetes and asthma which was in her suit case. We had to purchase same day tickets to fly home. I’m furious that this traumatic experience that put my family’s safety at risk could have been avoided if Budget Car Rental would of had the proper equipment in the car before renting it to us. It is their responsibility to ensure our car has the proper spare tire or inflation kit. We have now incurred thousands of dollars that were not planned for because the car did not have the proper equipment. I am a loyal Budget customer and am still hopeful they will resolve this situation in a timely manner.

Reserved a vehicle only to get there and they didn't have one available. Charged me for the upgrade which was not cool because I had a reservation.

Absolutely 100% terrible customer service would not honor my reservation for a midsize SUV “we are out of SUVs …Offered me a smaller car that I took and when I got home the car had a message to return to dealership for maintenance problems so I was not able to use the car I had the car drove it 3 miles in two days they still charge me full price would not adjust the price would not give me any discounts on the next rental just absolutely rip me off…..Customer service was terrible from beginning to end.100% unsatisfied with budget Rent-A-Car 1000 Maple Rd., Birmingham, MI

Service was poor. I asked for a full size and they said they don’t have the car(but I saw few on the back side) and they gave me a car with extra charge. Reception was rude.

I'd give them no stars if I could. I was given a car with a warped windshield, low tire pressure in two of the tires, and no windshield wiper fluid. When I contacted them about the safety concerns regarding my ability to see through the windshield, I was passed from one representative to the next. Roadside assistance never replaced my windshield and the matter was not addressed until the last day when I was refunded about 10% of what I paid for. Money was not my concern, my concern was my passengers and my safely and the safety of the people on the road with me. I had to stop several times due to nausea from causes from the warped windshield and ended up not making it to my destination. I am still rather confused and concerned as to why my safety was not a priority. Joke of a company.
