Very friendly and helpful staff. Always a pleasure going there. They greet you by name and if you ever have any unusual questions, they get the answers and will call you with the answers.

If you remember when banks knew your name and made you feel welcome, than this is the right bank. I don't like BIG banks and having the personal touch makes my banking experience worthwhile. The tellers are friendly and always accommodating. I can call with a question on my account and I speak to someone in Michigan. Very professional and courteous service. I know this branch goes the extra mile and so does the Ferndale location; the branch at Maple and Telegraph is very slow and not as friendly.

Mark Copland was such a pleasure to work with! Mark was very knowledgeable and explained everything through the entire process. As a first time home buyer it was very important to work with someone I truly felt was on my side and that I trusted 100%. I can honestly say I couldn't imagine having worked with anyone other than him, and I will highly recommend him to family and friends.

The worst bank in literal history. I should have known and closed my account when I made of withdrawal of $5000 only to step away from the counter and just to be safe I counted the cash and it was $50 short. I got back in line, waited 5 minutes and explained to the outrageously rude and condescending teller Ana that it was $50 short. She laughed in my face and said “there is no way it's short, I put it through the machine.†I repeatedly and very nicely told her it was short and counted it in front of her and asked her to count it. She counted it, it's short. She counts it again, it's short. She then proceeds to keep saying that there is no way it's short, she's shuffling papers all over the place, looking on the floor while telling the other employees that there is no way it's short. She runs the money through the machine, it's short. After 10 minutes of embarrassment at the counter luckily another customer came and I stepped to the side and asked another teller to take care of this. The man was nice and apologetic all while she continues to act confused and make me very uncomfortable. He gave me my $50 and I left. On Friday, January 5th at 4:35pm I deposited $500 CASH into the ATM. Cash, not a check. Being CASH, the funds should be available immediately right? No. I waited a few hours, it still doesn't show in my account that any deposit was made. Usually a check will show processing which is fine to confirm the the funds but I deposited CASH. I called Saturday morning to be told that an employee has to manually open the ATM until my cash would be available to me. Seriously? In 2018 your machine can't verify that I deposited $500 cash and you are withholding my cash from me? Had I known this I would have NEVER deposited the cash I needed all weekend! It's now Monday at 3:45pm and the deposit has not posted to my account. I called the bank and guess who answered? Ana, the rude teller who tried to steal my $50. I explained to her the situation and before I could finish talking she says she needs to look up my account. Why would you need to look up my account to tell me that my cash is not available. I told her I didn't need any more run around and I would be calling corporate. I hung up. She called me back and said she thinks we got disconnected all while being condescending once again. I explained we did not get disconnected but that I hung up because she clearly could not offer any help and would only tell me the same run around I heard on Saturday. As soon as she finally gave me a minute to speak I said I deposited cash and she said “oh, it was cash?.†Had she let me speak the first call instead of assuming I deposited a check, I would have told her that I knew their process and saved her the embarrassment of trying to lie to me and tell me the funds haven't “cleared†yet. I wish I would have told her I hung up mainly because she treated me horribly months ago and tried stealing a lousy $50 from me. I keep checking my account and the minute the funds show available I will be walking into the bank to close the account. Unfortunately for me, I have my mortgage with them which isn't as easy to close but that will be the next thing on my list. Side note: Dan Gilbert, a senior banker who unfortunately doesn't interact with daily customers at the teller desk is the nicest and friendliest banker I have met. I would be happy to work with Dan any day when he leaves Level One Bank. Also the staff at the Birmingham location on maple are very friendly and helpful. Update: it's now 10:10pm on Monday night: funds still not showing deposited and not available.
