This was our first stop of the day and we will definitely be back! David was so sweet, helpful, and talkative (not to mention very generous with samples)! The former schoolhouse was a hit with our group of three teachers! Is so adorable. I have seen the wine in some major retailers in metro Detroit so, to be honest, I didn't have the highest hopes for the quality. I was happily proven wrong! It was our favorite stop of the day- due to both the amazing customer service and the absolutely delicious ciders. We had so much fun we lost track of time and were late for our reservation up the road. The option to make your own 6 pack is like putting a kid in a candy store. We left with three 6 packs, 3 separate cans, two bottles of wine, and 2 prowlers of root beer. Most of this, however, would not have been purchased if David wasn't there. I dare say we have a new favorite place for ciders.

I absolutely love this place, it's a small little joint but with big character. I love the way the inside is layer out. Not to mention the variety of wines they have. I absolutely love the wine. I have a few personal favorites. The service is also great, I've had very friendly people help us out. I will always come back to peninsula cellars as often as possible.

Extremely rude staff. They move you along like it's a production line. You can't stay inside, they kick you outside, no shade inside, Not allowed to open umbrellas outside for shade. Had to immediately pay for flight. If you want to buy a bottle it has to a separate transaction. We won't be back. Oh yeah, with the $15 flight that don't even give you a complimentary wine glass, like the more classier wineries do.

My favorite winery on my tour of the TC peninsula! This was our last stop and our favorite. We were drawn in because we had teachers in our group that wanted to support the schoolhouse one. All of the staff here were super friendly and helpful. The prices for flights were great and there were so many options. We like that you could mix your flight selections between the wine and cider menus. The school theme with some of the wines was super fun. The outdoor seating was great because it allowed you to enjoy the view of the schoolhouse and the vineyard. We sat at a picnic table under a big shady tree and loved it! It was busy, but we had no trouble finding a spot to sit. Loved "Pop Quiz" so much I have to get a bottle to take home with me. My friends and I will definitely be returning when we return to TC. Highlight of our trip!

Would not go there again. The lady working was very rude and judgmental and seemed annoyed that we were in her store.

While visiting the Traverse City area, my wife and I took an afternoon drive up the peninsula. There are wineries all along M37. Knowing nothing about any of them, we picked a couple at random to visit, Peninsula Cellars being one of them. We loved it!Located in an old schoolhouse, the building maintains some neat history that the winery really dives into. The winery sells both wine and cider that it makes itself. We ordered a flight of wine, which was some of the best wine we had the whole trip! The cherry wines in particular were wonderful! The lone gentleman working the bar seemed a bit overwhelmed -- he did admit to me that it was busier than they typically see for a Tuesday afternoon -- but was very warm, friendly and helpful. For a unique experience and delicious wines, I would highly recommend Peninsula Cellars to anyone!

Looking for a fun and quasi educational spot in Traverse City? Look no further than Peninsula Cellars! This winery is a true gem, as it used to be the Maple Grove School house that operated from 1896 until 1956. So not only will you get to enjoy amazing drinks, but you'll also get a history lesson with each sip.I recently visited Peninsula Cellars and tried one of their cider flights. The ciders were all delicious, but my absolute favorite was the Cinnamon Swirl cider. It tasted like I was drinking a warm slice of apple pie, minus the utensils. The staff at Peninsula Cellars were also top-notch. They were so friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the place. The atmosphere is so nostalgic. There's something so cozy and inviting about drinking in an old schoolhouse. It's like you're transported to a simpler time where you don't have to worry about adulting or paying bills. Plus, there's a lovely outdoor seating area where you can enjoy your drinks and take in the beautiful surroundings.I highly recommend Peninsula Cellars to anyone visiting Traverse City if you're looking for a non-traditional winder setting. You get great drinks, a cool history lesson, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere - what more could you ask for? Just make sure to bring a designated driver because those ciders pack a punch!

Peninsula Cellars has a range of wine from affordable to a few more expensive options. Glasses range from $8-$10, and bottles range from about $22-$50. Staff goes above and beyond to find something you will like. Tasting room is very endearing.

A small little school where they truly have studied the art of making wine. Wonderful service and some of my favorite wine on the peninsula.

What outdoor outfitter has an issue with allowing a bike without a lock to sit inside for two minutes? I will be taking my business elsewhere. If you are an actual outdoor enthusiast, find a place that has employees that reflect what they are selling. Patagonia and North Face are only cool if you are destroying them OUTSIDE. The customer service, the attitudes, and the judgement are beyond disgusting.

Cute & unusual place. It's in an old school house & has school-themed decor. Flights are 4 tastings for $15, can mix wine & cider. We had 2 flights and all of them were good. The cherry habanero cider was really interesting & the cinnamon swirl cider was delicious. The views aren't as good here as other places, but it's still worth a stop. Staff is nice, selection is tasty, it wasn't busy when we went (3ish on a Sunday), indoor and outdoor seating.

This was our favorite winery we tried on the Leelanau Peninsula! Steve was awesome and made our tasting both fun and informational; we will definitely be back next time we are in town. The space is a really cool historical schoolhouse with a touch of whimsy. Would be great to come here in the summer when they have their outdoor patio open and all the grapes in full bloom. Favorites: OLD SCHOOL RED, 2017 CABERNET SAUVIGNON RESERVE, and the "Hoppy" Cider!
