I specifically went out of my way to come to the Ortonville branch today because I always have a great experience here. Sharon from the member service department assisted me in making a change to my account and was the best! She was so friendly, warm, and inviting. Everyone in the branch seemed to be in a good mood and because of that, boosted my mood too!

This branch is the worst. They legit never ever answer the phone. I have to call the clio branch everytime. They don't return phone calls and if they do it's hours later.

If it was possible to give them no stars, we would. My wife ran out of gas today at the scrap yard. She took her stuff back and got a check from the scrap yard the check is issued from this bank and the company that issued th check is literally across the road from this bank. She walks to the isbank to cash her check she just received to get gas and they refused to cash it for her. She had her driver's license and they said she needed another for of I.D to cash the check. (The check from the bank she is at right now). She does not have any other form of ID on her, and she does not have a debit or credit and to begin with either.She explained to them she returned scrap in order to get the check in order to get the gass gas today. I myself have an account there just so I can cash my scrap yard checks there. But I will be cancelling my account with them ASAP today. What kind of bank will not take a check that is from them and they know is Good from the business right across the street from a woman with a state license ID? They will not be getting any business from me, my wife or any of our family or friends every again starting today! What kind of people run this bank? So just be warned to think twice about banking with them....do you want want this rudeness and poor customer service to make anyone cry and have to go sit on the curb in the hot hot sun. Terrible bank and terrible treatment of customers.

I love them for all other loans, but DO NOT GET ANY SORT OF HOME LOAN. Their name is on the loan paperwork, but Midwest Loan Services holds the loan. Genisys should stop doing business with Midwest Loan Services if they care at all about their integrity. I was ahead on my payments. They sent back a payment I made, refusing my payment because it was ahead of schedule. They sent a bill over 14 days late (which I received the day after the notification they refused my payment) saying I owed a payment by the next day or I would have a late fee. Both letters said they were from Genisys, but when I went to the branch they could do nothing to help, not even take a payment. I was not late. I tried calling in a payment, but I was #77 in the phone queue. I made a payment by phone and was charged $8 for a one time payment that I should not have needed to make at all. What a scam. Contacting Better Business Bureau.*Update* I did exactly what they told me to do: Made the payment at the exact time required for the exact amount required and wrote "monthly mortgage payment" on check. I now have a $16 fee with no explanation why. I called Midwest, but was 90th in the phone queue. Why does Genisys still use Midwest to service the loan.

No one ever answers the phone you’re forced to leave a message and hope someone calls back that day but it’s usually the next. The ATM is frequently down and so is the one in Bueche’s parking lot. When you contact customer service you’re told “well they’re probably busy” and “machines break it happens. We have other branches”. Just unprofessional in terms of customer service and communications.

I really liked Genisys and recently refinanced my house with them, but it's been nothing but headaches, they send back our payments if we pay what is deemed too early or pay more than the minimum, then we get charged for being late. It's a giant headache and Genisys says that they use an outside loan provider so there is nothing they can do.We must now refinance our house loan at great cost just to not lose our house or destroy our credit. So sad that this is our only option.
