Was up at the store just before 9am Saturday. In Breckenridge, Michigan. No other cars in the parking lot. The lady ON THE PHONE yelled “hello” from the back office still ON THE PHONE. My daughter and I were in there for about 6 minutes. Got a few items. She came to the register STILL ON THE PHONE, rung us out STILL ON THE PHONE. Never once stopped to even look at us. STILL ON THE PHONE. I informed her there was a basket in the middle of the parking lot STILL ON THE PHONE. Went out and got it STILL ON THE PHONE. She retrieved the basket STILL ON THE PHONE. Went back in the store STILL ON THE PHONE.
When has anybody gotten paid to be on the phone while on the clock of a business. Unless you’re a telemarketer. This isn’t the first time I’ve been in a dollar general that this has occurred. When is it going to stop that an employee thinks when at work that’s it’s their social time. Floors could have been swept, shelves stocked, windows cleaned etc. When are employees going to be held accountable. When are employees going to have some pride in their work ethic. Why should they get paid for holding “social hour” while on the clock.

To me it looks like they toss everything on shelves and hope it all stays and if it doesn't then they just toss it in a different spot. I was raised hearing that everything has it's place but in this case at this store it doesn't.
