AAA is great!! In my opinion agent Julia Roberts not so great. If you like being told I don't have the answer to your question and I'll have to call you back, then have to call back yourself go with Julia as your agent. If you like leaving voicemails with no return call go with Julia as your agent. If you like zero replies to your communications after you request to speak with her supervisor, definitely go with Julia. The sad thing is I was referred to her by a trusted family member who was an employee of AAA, that didn't even matter to her. Just go to a different location!!

Overall AAA Michigan has been a great insurance provider for me, however I was recently double billed on a automatic payment. When I called to dispute the charge I felt less like a client and more of a inconvenience. The agent seemed a bit put off, maybe because according to him there has been other similar complaints. The account has been corrected.

Very helpful with planning our first driving trip to Florida. Provided state books, maps, and put together our first TripTik. Advised we also use the AAA app.

Switched some insurance stuff around and added my fiancée to my plan. Julia seemed like a good agent at first, and I understood miscellaneous mix-ups on paperwork and long lapses of communication - auto reform recently took effect and I’m sure agents were swamped. We finally got everything properly sorted out, just 1 week before the bill was due. I called, gave my savings info. over the phone and made clear that’s how I wanted to pay. Never came out of savings. Gave it a few days to process and then inquired. Julia had charged my MOTHER’S credit card on file! This was obviously extremely frustrating and I wasn’t even provided with an apology. She sent it to her accounting department Monday night and never even gave me any updates the next day. I switched agents and figured it out on my own. We’re all humans and make errors, but at least have some decent customer service and apologize.

After sitting on hold with AAA corporate for almost an hour while I was at the dealership, I called the Brighton branch in desperation. I had the good fortune of having my call answered by Lydia. She is very knowledgeable and professional, and made a stressful situation simple and quick.

AAA is a great insurance company to have. There are a lot of great benefits to having a membership and being insured by them. However, I highly advise NOT choosing Michelle McCratty as your agent. When she was still at the AAA Carpenter Rd location, I came in last year to sign up for a membership and insurance through AAA. The entire process was rushed because she was so focused on leaving exactly on time. Due to her rushing the process, she ended up linking my membership to another person’s account in a different city. Months after I thought I had opened a membership with McCratty, I ended up needing my car towed, which would have been covered by the membership. That day, I found out my membership was never successfully opened in my name. The membership card I had was linked to someone else’s account. This led me to being stranded on the side of the road for hours. I ended up having to come out of pocket for another membership just to get my car towed. Since I had to use the service right away, I was charged an additional fee. Everything had to be done over the phone and the tow service did not care that this was an error due to my agent. This was money I was not prepared to spend. When I brought this to McCratty’s attention the following business day to correct my account, she showed ABSOLUTELY NO concern, or care for the trouble I had to endure due to her mistake. I would have been more understanding had she shown concern or even apologized for her mistake, but I got neither one. This was TERRIBLE customer service! No one should have to go through a situation or poor treatment like this, especially if they’re already stranded because their car broke down!
