Where to start, this location has now proven to be the real joint demise of what was once a great company to rent from. Not only would I choose Avis for work but also pleasure. This last visit 2 weeks ago was the nail in thier coffin. I waited 2 weeks to calm down and not leave a reviews filled with expletives. So long story short after waiting nearly an hour in a room with multiple people this one guy mind you a one man show attempted to help everone waiting but did it in a way we actually felt sorry for him. I sure did and this maybe where it all went wrong. I had a booking for 2 days for a small SUV with no added services since my company does not cover any kind of additional cost. I did let him give me a car un-cleaned to help him out, he said you can have this vehicle for a discounted rate but added a roadside package without telling me and set the rental for one day instead of two. I was slid a paper to sign and with five people waiting in line rushed me to sign and move along. Needless to say there was no discounted rate and the vehicle he put me in was more expensive, he added roadside and not to menton I was stuck with a $10 extra day fee. Over 6 calls to the location with no change or resolution. Only to be told we will have a manager call you. Guess what, no calls days later i was told, call corporate only to be told after the 3rd call I was waisting thier time and there was nothing they were going to do about it. Well Avis / Budget not only have you lost me as a customer but i am going out of my way to cost you business, my company and everyone I know will not be renting from Avis or Budget again. I had to pay over $60 out of my own pocket for a company covered rental. it is unfair and not right! My coworker had a similar experance in Atlanta last month and was also charged for add ons that he never authorised. He was out of pocket for over $30 since Avis also played him. This was a fool me twice situation i am smart enough to not allow them to do it for a third time. Never Again! Just had a Enterprise rental today, lets put it this way they are miles above Avis and 2 rentals in with the brighton location they are being made to look like a much superior option.

Rented a minivan to go to Florida for Christmas and when we came back, our personal car was gone! They towed it and didn't bother telling us we couldn't park there in the first place. There were no signs in the parking lot stating that nor did I sign any paperwork agreeing to that. They saw me park my car but failed to tell me I couldn't leave it there. Then the manager Sam admitted they do let their regulars "park in the back" but this was not offered to me. Instead he towed my car. And then when I complained to corporate, they had no sympathy for me and told me there was nothing they could do about my $316 towing bill.

Nick, the rental car agent at Avis in Brighton, Michigan is the specific reason for my review. He was helpful! He was quick to get us on the road and he did it with a smile. Thank you Nick. We will see you for our next rental need.

Sam is great. but that's where the positives end. Unfortunately every time we have to experience Kal, it's terrible. He doesn't honor the online pricing and always makes you pay more. It' unethical and feels like a scam.

After returning the car, I asked the agent to check the car and be sure every thing is ok, He said it looks fine, you can leave. 10 min later He called me and said the car is dirty and you need to wash it. I had to drive back and take the car and wash it. Next morning I noticed that I forgot my garage opener inside the car, went there and the place was closed although they say they open at 7 am. I had to wait 25 min til some one come and open.

I returned a car that I rented at this location. I live down a gravel road so it had some dirt on it. I was told that I must take it through a cad wash or I would be charged a cleaning fee. I have rented many times from Enterprise and have never encountered this issue. I won’t be back.

This was my first time renting from Avis. Was an overall good experience. I would rent from them again. They provided me with this lovely jeep for my trip to the upper peninsula!

As a regular renter, I must say that the service at this location was outstanding. Sam the manager was incredibly friendly and well-informed, the cars were spotless and in excellent condition. We didn't experience any delays when picking up our vehicle, and the return process was swift. I want to express my gratitude for ensuring that both the beginning and end of our trip were exceptional!I must also mention that Sam was absolutely fantastic – highly professional and incredibly kind. He efficiently handled my last-minute reservation with a smile. Avis is truly fortunate to have Sam on their team!

Honestly, Sam was very helpful. He took the time to fix an issue that another Avis had caused. I rent about 10-13 times a month. He has been the most honest, hardworking, and upfront Avis rep I’ve dealt with in the past 1-2 years.He’s a great multi-tasked and his store gets busy quite often, if you see a long line, don’t get intimated. You’ll be in and out of there in no time.I’ll always choose the rent from Sam even if I have to to drive in extra 15-20 min to get there. THANK YOU!!

Reservation number - 27429870US6. Said their booking system is a day behind and could not honor my rental. But could provide a different car for $20+ dollars a day more (on a weekly rental). Would not even meet me half way in price. They didn't honor their own reservation system.

I had a great experience with this car rental company. Sam is easy going and patient. He put me in a RT Durango with a hemi engine which made my day. I also left my cleaning equipment in the back of the car rental and the following day Sam let me unload my equipment from the return rental. Its pleasant walking into a business with friendly and knowledgeable staff.

This is THE WORST rental company. We were just charged $151.00 today 09/17/2023, and not a single employee can tell us as to why we were charged this a month after we rented the car. We rented the car on 08/08/2023. This is absolutely ridiculous that no one can tell us why we were charged this a month later. We will be disputing this. Furthermore, when we showed up to pick up our vehicle on 08/08/2023, there were no employees there. Finally, after 30 minutes of sitting in the parking lot waiting for someone to help us get our rental car, two Avis workers show up with Chipotle. If you are going out to get lunch, that is fine, but it does not take two employees to go get lunch. One person can pick up lunch for both people, while the other employee does THEIR JOB! This rental company is EXTREMELY unprofessional and there is no one there actually supervising their workers. It is one big free-for-all here for these workers here. PLEASE read the reviews before renting here. If I could give this company zero stars I would.

Owner did not have the compact car I booked available. Wound up charging me a $1000 for an upgrade AFTER implying Ilto me that it was a free upgrade because it wasn't my fault that the compact car was not available. Very rude and understaffed.

Worst rental experience I have had at Avis yet. Avoid this location at all costs. I will rent in Lansing, Jackson, Ann Arbor or Detroit before ever using the Brighton location again. I often have to rent a car for work and have had close to 20 rentals in the last 10 months and have never had an experience like this with Avis. Front desk staff was unwilling to help. Eventually, reluctantly, they did and proceeded to significantly overcharge me. The car I did eventually get was very dirty on the inside (an entirely separate issue I didn't even have the energy to address). I opened a case with Avis customer service and 22 days, 6 emails and 2 phone calls later I am finally getting a refund.
