I'm a two time buyer(two different houses) of a whole house water softener/rust out system from State --first house was good-no problems This spring purchased a new house and replaced the existing system with new State equipment. Within the first two weeks discovered a large amount of water on the basement floor. State came out and secured the discharge line which wasn't properly installed! Couple of months later---this past Labor Day weekend--Saturday morning-discover more water in basement-call State leave message and ask for service call--few hours past and don't hear back -called the emergency number---no call back. I don't want more water so I put a temporary fix on the discharge line -which was split-and looked like the line from the previous system!! Tuesday tech came out and replaced the line. Disappointing that they never called over the weelend. Not sure what emergency gets calls back.

I have used only this company for years, but never again. I took half a day off work to wait for them and nobody showed up. When I called to ask why, the woman said there was no appointment for me in their schedule, accusing said she didn't remember talking to me before (I didn't set the appt with her, so why would she?) and asked me repeatedly if I knew what company I has called, as if I didn't have them on speed dial for years. She put me on hold 3x, asked me for my name, address and phone probably 3 or 4 times, and had me explain over and over without ever apologizing for their mistake or even trying to reset my appointment. If this is their customer service I shudder to think what skill level the technicians have. Call someone else if you need water-softener assistance.

My father is 81 and sick. He's been a customer for DECADES!! If his bill gets behind or over $80 they send people to the house pounding on the door for 20 minutes. This is a weekly occurrence. I called the manager and they said that's a standard practice. I'm 48 and never had another company pound on a door for a monthly bill. Shocked this is a standard practice.

My father has been a customer oof State Soft Water for 20+ years. He is 81 years old and very sick. If his bill gets above $80 they send people to the home to collect a monthly bill. They pound the door for 20 minutes and sit in the driveway and come back to pounding the door again. He has ALWAYS paid his bill and never have I heard of a company stalking people at their home for a monthly bill. When I called to discuss this they blamed us.. They said this is a standard practice so beware before renting or buying equipment.

I was not a big water drinker before I had State Soft Water, but now it is the main thing I drink! I also love having this water in the shower. It makes my skin soft and my hair shine. I can’t imagine a world without it!

Don’t show, don’t call when an appointment was made a week in advance. When they did show up to change filters, they shut the water off and did not turn the water back on. I had no idea this happened since I incorrectly assumed their help knew what he was doing. Absolutely do NOT recommend.

My wife and I purchased a house in SE Michigan in 2020. We are expatriates currently living 10,000 miles away in Australia. We had new tenants move into the home in February this year and they reported a foul odor in the water, along with rust stains. We had no idea who to call, and importantly, who we could trust; but found State Soft Water on Google and were impressed with their many glowing reviews (including the fact they were local). I first spoke with Erica who was great to work with, who then put me onto Ryan. He was amazing. He went above and beyond with every aspect of the service. He was punctual, extremely respectful, polite, patient, very knowledgeable and always professional. After he fitted an iron filter which resolved the water issues, we (not long after) again contracted Ryan and SSW to fit a new water heater (and reverse osmosis fresh water system) as the existing Bradford White water heater was 23 years old and we weren't sure how much longer it would last? Ryan sourced the particular heater we wanted (Bradford White 75 gal power vent) and even passed on a saving to us he was able to negotiate with the supplier, despite the heater practically being sold out everywhere locally. It was installed with no issues, and they even identified an installation issue caused when the home was built in 1997 (but no other contractor who worked on the home before SSW were able to notice). Ryan and the team at SSW are very 'old school' trustworthy. They do absolutely everything they promise they will do and are great communicators. My wife and I are very thankful that SSW took charge, managing the process for us given the complexity of our distance issue; and were able to resolve all our water issues on time and to budget. We have every confidence in recommending this family business. We give them a very well earned 5 stars!

Had a great experience with my second reverse osmosis system installed by State Soft Water! Was able to get my water tested in my new home, and the system installed in my basement by a tech within a couple of weeks and now am enjoying great tasting water from my fridge and faucet. Would definitely recommend!
