Do not let this business fool you into believing that lasting your cats claws off is any less painful than traditional declaw. There is no ethical form of declaw unless medically necessary. Please rethink your decision to provide declaw services. If you are a customer, even if you are not considering declawing your cats, please consider choosing an ethical veterinarian who does not perform these inhumane services.

I took my Serval cat to an ER appointment. It was an hour before I saw anyone. An ER visit cost more so I feel it should have been much quicker. The vet didn't seem confident in anything she said. I'm hoping it was bad people skills. The kitten had already had a broken pelvis at 9 weeks. She's 16 weeks now. She fell and is now limping on a swollen leg. I suggested X-rays because the vet didn't. She just stood there looking at me. I stated I'd like to try to get them without sedation, but if it was necessary absolutely do it. They brought her back with an X-ray of her foot and wrist. That was it. She said they couldn't get anymore because she was giving them trouble. I asked about sedating her and getting more X-rays. The vet hesitantly said no as if she wasn't sure. She said to try pain meds for a couple days. I asked again about sedating and getting them now. Again she hesitantly said no and just kept looking at me. I had to ask if we were finished. Any interaction with her was very awkward. Today the leg is even worse. Now I will need to pay Again to get a second opinion. Come to find out they close at 7pm. I got in my car at 7:01pm. It seems like she didn't want to get more X-rays because she wanted to go home. Very disappointed and out a lot of money. Donna & Akira

Great Vet hospital. The staff are all super sweet & accommodating. We took our cat there for years & now we have a new puppy whose been there a few times. I highly recommend this Vet Hospital. They have offices in both Brighton & Hartland.

We have used both the Brighton and Hartland location but find the Hartland location to be less busy and very accommodating to emergencies. We have had very good care for our dog and in the past our two cats.

Took our Precious dog of 14 1/2 years in to end her suffering from seizures. Answered questions on cremation. Private cremation or with friends. With friends is fine I said....no mention that we would not get ANY cremains. Don't you think you should make that clear? Called after 10 days to be told, "NO, group cremation means nothing back, sorry for the confusion" Unbelievable.....

I had a little emergency with one of my fur babies. She got her nail hooked and tore it off. I jumped on google and Towne and Country was the closest place open. I gave them a call and they said to bring her in right away. We got there and there were a few other emergencies they were dealing woth. I waited about a half hour and that was ok because Lola was in no major pain at that time. She was bleeding, but when your nail is ripped off, what do you expect? My one complaint was that they seemed almost too lax that Lola was getting blood all over. I was told not to worry that they would clean it up. We went back to the room, then vet came in right away and took and look, then shared the plan. They took her in back and 10 minutes later she came out woth her paw all cleaned and wrapped. I felt very happy with how clear the vet was in regards to the treatment and her care she was receiving. I could hear the staff in the back talking to her and comforting her as they gave care. They didn't try to get me to run extra tests or provide extra services so when it was time to checkout, the cost was half the price of the last time this happened and we took her to a different ER vet. It was such a relief as these times are tough. I was very happy with this place and will likely Make it our regular vet! Thank you!

We had an issue with our guinea pig recently and she was very well taken care of! The staff was very friendly, and the services were affordable.

Our dog got stung by a bee and her face was swelling up really bad. Our initial reaction was to bring her in and we called ahead. They said to bring her in and for them to check her out because of the symptoms described. When the doctor get to her after we waited 30 minutes in the waiting room, the swelling went down and doctor advised she was fine (clearly). After that, the doctor had only spent 2 minutes with our dog they still charged us $100. Do not take your animal here for emergency or for regular services. All it would have taken was a quick look for a doctor or a vet tech to have realized the dog was fine and sent us on our way home. Pretty awful service during and after the situation as well.

I had a really good experience here. My dog hurt his paw and they fit him in same day. I didn't have to wait long to see the vet. The prescriptions were also really inexpensive compared to other vets. His paw was still acting up two days later so I brought him back in no charge.

C*A*U*T*I*O*N Recently had my cat in for a procedure. After the procedure and we were able to bring him home, there was noticeable negligence on behalf of the staff which cause my cats paw to swell to twice its normal size. It was obvious it caused by an Iv insertion missing a vein and resulting in fluid being trapped in my cats paw which led to huge infection. We brought up the concern to the veterinarian a couple times before being him back for another check up. The vet I spoke with immediately refused to take any responsibility for the issue, all while speaking very rudely and unprofessionally on the phone. I only wanted the issue to be corrected at no cost to myself, seeing as said issue was obviously a direct result of the negligence of the vets office. I received a second and third opinion from other veterinarians that validated my suspicions on the cause of the injury. This was brought to the vets attention and still she refused to accept any responsibility, nor sympathize with the obvious mistake that was made while my pet was in their care. All in all I had to find a new veterinarian and come out of pocket another $250 to correct a mistake made by a licensed veterinarian with no moral standards. Make sure they note your account anytime you call with a concern and keep record yourself. They will not take responsibility for any issues caused in their care.

I used to take my dog to Town and Country Aninal Hospital for many years. It has been several years since he passed and I came back with our new family pet. It is not the same warm, caring place I had experienced in the past. Conversely, my pet snd I experienced a negative, hostile environment without follow through. I brought my pet in on a Monday and asked the doctor to check her for a urinary tract infection because she had all the symptoms. They ignored me and rushed her out the door once she got her puppy shots. She went untreated for 5 days when she went dramatically downhill to the point the vet thought she may have a life threatening condition. To add insult to injury they charged me an extra $95 for the emergency visit because it was a Sat. when I brought her back. If they had tested her when I asked, she would have not been so sick or needed to be there on a Sat. Additionally, I was shocked at other unprofessional and hostile actions by staff at the office. For example, one tech stated he did not like all sheperds and then proceeded to carry her with one arm. She was hanging, insecurely and clearly terrified as he carried her away. I couldn't believe what I had witnessed and told the doctor/owner. He said that tech was "from New York" and just out spoken. He said he would put a note in my file that he should not work with my dog on the future. The next time I came, he came to get my dog again! When I asked to talk with soneone about my concerns they said they would have someone call me. Many weeks later I still had not been able to talk with someone despite multiple messages. The short of this long story is that I am running the other way. Not only did I find this place unprofessional but I found it cold and scary for my pet.

I've been taking my dogs to this vet since I moved to MI in 2013. I've only had positive experiences. They try to take the most economical and healthy route for the treatment of your pet instead of cHarge you for a million test by using patience, observation and time to better analyze the situation. I highly recommend Dr. Grutcher (sp?) The female owner of facility. She's also really talented in doing surgeries. Did an amazing job on my dogs ear.

I would not recommend using this vet. If you ever call to get a same day appointment, they immediately tell you they are booked and they can get you in but it will be a $95 fee. I have a cat with a urinary issues that gets frequent bladder infections and every time I call to try to get him in, it is a $95 fee because they have no appointments. I do not believe this is always the case and they use these opportunities to make the extra $95. How can they always be completely booked? They are more concerned about the money than the animals. What is the point of being a client if they can never get you in when you really need it?

When my cat died at almost 18, they were extremely caring. They even sent a Sympathy card to help me through my grief and loss. I highly recommend Towne and Country Animal Hospital in Brighton, and I give them my highest recommendation.
