This is a zero star review and warning to those seeking to rent storage or have your boat serviced at BC (Boater's Choice) in Brooklyn. Being new to the area, we decided to book indoor heated storage last fall in BC's new heated building. I had picked up the storage flyer stating what was included in the cost ahead of time. A few weeks later when I went to drop off the check for the storage and to schedule for pick-up, Tyler, who was at the counter, told me the price on the flyer was wrong. That was my first red flag. The owner, Damon Bundy, happened to be there as he was finishing up going over his new advertising campaign with the newspaper. He was very specific about making sure there was a bible verse at the bottom of his ad which seemed genuine. I believe Tyler knew I was going to speak with Damon about honoring the advertised price, so he decided to charge me the price from the flyer. In addition to the storage, I ordered an oil change and also asked to have our motor washed and waxed. We were charged $110.00 for the oil change and filter and $159.99 to wash and wax the motor. They charged $165.00 to "winterize" our motor (not sure why for inside HEATED storage). I questioned Tyler about the winterization and he said it was BC policy to winterize all motors. So I went along with it. They picked up the boat in the fall and that was it until spring. Per BC policy, you MUST give them 2 weeks' notice to have your boat delivered. I called and gave Tyler 3 weeks' notice. We wanted our boat BEFORE the Memorial Day weekend. As the holiday was inching closer, I kept in contact with Tyler about the delivery. Then, about a week before the holiday, I get a response from him that he'll try to get the boat down from the rack and get us scheduled for delivery before the holiday. The next day, he said he was sorry, but they were (A) overbooked, (B) short of drivers, (C) trouble getting the boat down to prep for delivery. He stated that we would be the first delivery on Tuesday, the day AFTER the holiday! When our boat was delivered on Tuesday, we talked to the driver about our disappointment at not having our boat, especially since the weather had been so great all weekend. He said that he would have delivered our boat if he had known, but that it was never scheduled! He mentioned that he worked until 6pm on that Saturday of the holiday weekend to make sure everyone that wanted their boats got them. Well, except for us, I guess. In our excitement to finally get our boat in the water, it wasn't until we got it on our hoist that we noticed that the motor had not been washed or waxed. It actually looked worse than when we took it out of the water due to the layer of dirt and dust on it from being in storage. I sent an email to the owner Damon stating my issues on both the delayed delivery of our boat as well as the lack of washing and waxing of the motor that we paid extra to have done. That also prompted me to question whether or not the oil change was done. Damon responded on June 2nd and accepted full responsibility for everything. He went on to say that he needed to get more hands-on with what was happening at his business. He assured me that they did in fact change the oil/filter. He said he would refund the $159.00 for the wash/wax of the motor and he was sorry about that. On June 10th, I followed up with an email to Damon thanking him for taking responsibility and for agreeing to refund the $159.00. It's now the beginning of September and we have still not received any refund. I guess Damon must be too busy to follow through on his promise. Not exactly the best way to run a business. I would advise anyone thinking about having anything done by BC (Boater's Choice) to think twice. We have learned that there are much better options out there and we will not make the same mistake this year. It's sad that they advertise their business stating the importance of faith, but it seems like just a ploy to gain business. He sure fooled us! Learn from our experience and make a be

I immediately scheduled my installation appointment. My boat was picked up at my home, installation was completed in 1 day and the boat was returned the next day.OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!!!! The sales and service department(s) staff are great! This marina/dealership cares about its customers. Not to mention…the facility is top notch. Find you next Nautique or Barletta in Brooklyn, Michigan! You won’t be disappointed.

You sent I wanted to tell you about our experience at Boaters Choice. Last year we took our pontoon in to have some work done. we chose your business as I have been getting all of our Winterization supplies there for years. we like to shop and do business with Local Businesses. in fact when I was the Mgr at Brooklyns Cvs a lady who worked for you was trying to recruit me to work for you. getting back to the pontoon, we had just had the Voltage Regulator done so we were not sure what was going on. The Battery went dead so it was not charging. when we dropped it off Tyler was very nice and took in our pontoon. we got a call and was told it was the battery so we had your people replace it, come to find out that your employee replaced it with a DEEP CYCLE BATTERY. which we found out this info later. Your employee replaced it then called us saying the Stator needed replaced. was told that since Boaters Choice doesnt deal in Mercury/Yamaha motors, you couldnt look it up in the yamaha system. in all honesty you should have informed us of this fact before taking in our pontoon. we would have NEVER brought it to you. We picked up our still unwell Pontoon after paying you $338.96. my wife frantically called around to find a Stator. we purchased the Stator from THAYERS and had them install it this spring...(we would not have been able to have anyone repair last fall) Was quoted a price from Thayers for Stator install ($300). Was called by Thayers to report that whoever installed the new Battery did not install a correct Battery. YOUR PERSON INSTALLED A DEEP CYCLE WHICH SHORTED OUT OUR VOLTAGE REGULATOR AND STATOR. so Thayers had to get another V Regulator and a proper battery which raised our cost to $600. Was informed that your business is having problems keeping employees and in fact when my wife called and talked to Tyler after this was all found out, he insinuated that the employee who messed up our Electrical System on our Pontoon is already gone. Tyler refunded the cost of the battery. My wife didnt understand that the V Regulator was fried and we need to replace it. had she known she would have included that when she complained to Tyler. I picked up our pontoon from Thayers and asked for your battery, seen the receipt for the new V Regulator at $185 .....on 4/6 I stopped in to return your battery, I didnt have to however we are honest people and thought your business would also be. The Deep Cycle Battery that YOUR EMPLOYEE put in caused more harm than good. Tyler walked me in to speak with someone. I told my story and got no where. this guy said that he refunded the battery and thats all we are getting. Thayers were going to keep that Battery if I hadnt asked for it back to return to you. So apparently customer service isnt important to you. $185 would break you to keep a good customer. My wife is very active on Social Media and word of mouth goes a long way....hope Mr Bundy will do the correct thing and refund us the $185. Thank You Don Comstock

Damon and his staff are absolute top notch! We have dealt with them for a couple years now, started out by them just winterizing our old boat, and buying accessories to helping us find a newer boat that was a perfect fit for what we needed. Couldn’t ask for a better dealer when it comes to customer service, response, care, and appreciation.
