I’m writing this review to express my deep concern about the way my 78-year-old grandmother has been treated by one stylist at this salon, Sharon Hoffman. My grandmother has been a long-time client of Sharon’s and always showed her respect, even when conversations became uncomfortable due to differing viewpoints. The salon has always been a place of open dialogue, and my grandmother has never been anything but polite and respectful, regardless of the topic.
Over the past year, Sharon’s attitude and behavior toward my grandmother have changed drastically—becoming increasingly dismissive, combative, and even hostile during casual conversations, especially when political topics came up. Despite being treated this way, my grandmother continued to come to her appointments, never allowing differing opinions to affect their professional relationship.
Unfortunately, the treatment worsened. Sharon began engaging with my grandmother on Facebook in an inappropriate and antagonistic manner, commenting negatively on her posts and even sending unsolicited private messages attacking her character. My grandmother never responded with hostility and continued to show up for her hair appointments, trying to keep things professional.
The most recent incident crossed a serious line. Sharon refused to do my grandmother’s hair unless she agreed to a private conversation first—something completely inappropriate in a place of business, especially given my grandmother’s age and discomfort with confrontation. She quietly and respectfully left the salon that day after Sharon refused her service.
Since then, Sharon has continued to send multiple messages, including to me, and has posted publicly demanding apologies from both of us. This behavior is not only unprofessional—it borders on harassment.
To be clear, this review is only about Sharon Hoffman and does not reflect the rest of the staff at New Beginnings. The business owner has always treated my grandmother kindly, and there are many talented, respectful stylists at this salon. My grandmother had planned to continue going to New Beginnings with a different stylist, but due to Sharon’s continued harassment, she has chosen to cancel her appointment to avoid further conflict or stress on the salon’s environment.
If you’re considering coming here, I urge you to choose a stylist other than Sharon Hoffman. No one—especially an elderly woman—should be treated this way. Respect and professionalism should never be compromised in any place of business.

I was supposed to have a facial with Adela on 3/23. No one was at the shop. I tried calling the number they had listed on a small table and left a voicemail but no one returned my call. I also texted the number that set up the appointment and no response from that either. I waited for 20 minutes. Very bad customer service.

I recently was looking for a new hair stylist mine moved away, my friend told me about New Beginnings so I made an Appointment with Diane! The minute I stepped in the door I knew this was my New Beginning with a new stylist I felt instant comfort, then I walked in and met Di, she was so helpful and gave great advice about my hair which was damaged, Di even got a second opinion on on what to do!!

By far the best salon I have ever gone to. Diana is the best! Thank you New Beginnings Salon for making me feel so welcome and giving me a hair style that looks fantastic, I've never had so many compliments on my hair until now.

My mom loves Joy she's been doing my mom's hair since my dad passed two years ago Joy has a way with my mom and understands her hair needs! The other ladies working there seem to have the same qualities with their clients!
