There are no reasons to go to Aspirus. They have horrible staff to patient communication. I went for a covid test, and they sent me to the entry with "rapid test" packets. I was told I'd be called before they run the test. I asked how long it would be and I was told up to 6 hours! To top it off, they never even called. Never got the results back. I hope I never have to go there for an emergency, I'd probably get left in admitting and forgotten. Call Death before calling this hospital, if you can even call it a hospital.

Melissa in appointments went above and beyond to help me see a Doctor and subsequently; an iron infusion treatment. I was under some short frame time constraints and stressed out to the max. She was wonderful.

The staff I encountered at Aspirus Hospital during my recent stay for surgery was amazing! Special shout out to Linda RN and Heather CNA from the Med/Surg floor who were patient and kind to me when I was not my best self!!

Recently moved to the area from Wisconsin and was surprised to see how poor the healthcare is in the UP. My options were here or UPHS Portage. I made the wrong decision I realize now. I checked the reviews for this hospital after finding out I was pregnant and it didn't seem bad. At first I loved my experience here. I will admit though, they are not good about calling you about test results, so make sure you have myaspirus because otherwise it may take 4-5 days for them to call you after the results have been posted. I got my test results back and they didn't make sense and weren't good. My urine culture was also contaminated and they couldn't read anything off of it, but due to the blood results they were so distracted they never reordered the test. I questioned my results to my midwife, explaining I never had symptoms and this couldn't be right. I asked her to explain my diagnosis and she pulled up something on her computer screen and read it to me, because she admitted she knew nothing about it and was waiting for Wausau to call her and tell her what to do. The OBGYN never spoke to me and only told my midwife what to tell me, rather than coming into the room and addressing me directly. I asked many questions and was never given any clear answers and I was terrified. After a call from Wausau, she guilted me into going through treatment without any education on my diagnosis or confirmation tests being completed. I was told to either go to the ER or labor and delivery when I was 7 weeks pregnant to treat me to start off, which was added cost to me, all due to hospital red tape. They'd never had my diagnosis before and were not sure what to do and the scramble to help me was obvious. I appreciate this effort in retrospect, but the hospital shouldn't have made this as much of a problem as it was. While waiting for treatment they put an IV in my arm that wasn't supposed to be there and then they removed it 5 minutes later after the midwife realized they were about to treat me incorrectly. At this point I believed firmly that they didn't know what they were doing. After treatment they gave me a piece of paper about what I should expect that was labeled "STATE OF WYOMING" at the top. I refused to go through further treatment until they did confirmation and then I was treated with what I perceive to be a lack of compassion, ignorance, and disrespect. Up until this point I had blamed the hospital for not having their staff more prepared. But I can't just blame the hospital anymore. She contradicted herself several times, and when I called her out for it she gaslighted me. My only education about my diagnosis came from google and what she had read off her computer screen to me. I will admit, in fear I may have come off as antagonistic and I take responsibility for not being as polite as I'm capable of but their attitudes via message (or lack of messages) was retaliatory and unprofessional. My midwife refused to speak with me over myaspirus anymore and my message went unresponded to even though they had direct requests and questions. I asked to be referred to someone who could help me and was knowledgeable about this since she had admitted she was not, and my request was ignored. When my confirmation test came back positive they sent me a very catty email that seemed to pat themselves on their back for their excellence. I don't know what it said at this point, because I had my husband read it for me because of how shot my nerves were at this point. After dealing with the snooty attitudes between her and her staff, I decided to end their burden for them and find a new hospital. If you're experiencing anything but a perfectly healthy and normal pregnancy, don't go here. I've heard from other women that their pregnancy was wonderful here, but I have to say that wasn't my experience. To summarize, she was great in the beginning but when she was confronted by something beyond her knowledge she reacted in a way I believe to be unprofessional. The

One of the anesthesia nurses laughed at me when I said I didn't want an epidural and said I'd change my mind. The head OB blatantly lied to get me to agree to an induction and epidural that I did not want. He came in after I gave birth and had the balls to say he told me everything would be fine. They changed up everything on me 12 days before I was due. Threatened to have my husband kicked out because he was telling them they needed to figure out what was going on and was telling them they lied. I've had some good experiences at aspirus but the birth of my first kid left a horrible taste in my mouth.

If I could put zero stars I would. I don't understand how a knee brace for support is a difficult request, yet narcotics will be given if asked for. What kind of sense does that make?

This hospital is full of wonderful staff with huge hearts. Not only have I myself gone here and received wonderful service, but I have taken patients from where I work up here, and they were absolutely outstanding! This hospital has a group of smart, talented, and understanding individuals. They are truly compassionate and inspiring people.

Our son fell and split his chin open at one of the local hotel pools. We took him here at 10:00 p.m. and it was a great experience. All staff, nurses, and doctors were so professional, helpful and caring! 10 out of 10!

I received the best medical care, as I hoping for. Fastest in and out ER service I have ever had. Yet, both nurse and Dr. Took time with me.
