“This is a wonderful store, in a beautiful, historic home. Highly recommend a stop if you are looking for a unique gift, for a female or person with feminine tastes at least. The staff is not super friendly... as I was checking out once, a manager was lecturing another staffer about something minor right in front of me, which was super uncomfortable. But the store is great!”
“If i could, i'd give 10 stars for both This That & Odder Things AND Sprigs Salon. The store is amazing, cool & a fun destination for everything imaginable. Christine runs the store while Claire is working in her Sprigs Salon. I ADORE them both & was able to watch Claire cut & color a beautiful young lady's hair for her Prom. From the multiple highlighting, lowlight undertones & a hint of blue to match her clients gorgeous blue eyes & gown, I've NEVER been more impressed & i've known many stylists in 50 yrs with top-drawer salons from West Bloomfield, Birmingham & The Grosse Pointes. Those salons would've charged triple what Claire does for such a complicated time consuming coloring & even more for the cut. It was the most elegant, beautiful cut & color EVER & i can totally see why men & women come from the tri-county + area to Ypsilanti Depot Town & Sprigs exclusively for Claire's true artistry with hair. BONUS - you can peruse the unique art, apparel, gifts & vintage items for sale at This That & ODDer Things, stroll the Depot Town gems, dine at an array of eateries & have your hair treated to a purely magical cut & color. There is nothing close to comparable to ODDer Things & Sprigs plus Claire & Christine are the sweetest, most fun pros ever.”
“By far my favorite store! Quality of the clothing is top-notch, and the service is impeccable. Gigi’s Mode is my first stop whenever I am in need of an outfit! Choosing clothes or accessories is not my forte, but the owners are so helpful and have a great eye. And — they will be honest if something does not flatter or suit you, which I really appreciate.
I recently bought dresses for an out-of-town wedding and rehearsal dinner… I got stopped and complemented on my outfits SO many times. I’ve never received so many compliments on an outfit! I have purchased several items from dresses, to pants, tops, and jewelry and receive compliments every time. This boutique is my go to when I need something cute and unique.”

“I was coming to Detroit for an interview and my suit was left behind in Portland. I was so lucky to have Bhavana there to help me in picking out something. She bent over backwards to get me exactly what I needed and she did it when the store was close to closure. Usually you feel sort of rushed and like they want you to leave when a store is about to close but she was just interested in getting me exactly what I needed. Because of her I got the job and I will be back. Extremely impressed. Prices were good for the quality. The shirt and pants are comfortable and very nice.”
“It’s a shame so many people come in the store and spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars to walk out with garbage bags that are ripping before the poor cashiers can even finish packing them and I hear that from them a lot that they don’t never have bags they don’t never have paper to wrap the breakables they have plenty of tiny bags But no medium or extra large bags. I feel bad for those cashiers.”
“It was my birthday and there is no place I’d rather be than the city I love, so I flew across country to meet with a friend and celebrate ❤️. I had just three days before I had to go back to Los Angeles and I waited until the last minute to buy some true MoTown attire.I called and left a message because the Google maps address was the print factory, not the retail store . Owner called me back to tell me they were closed and, due to the pandemic, would not be open to the Public for a few weeks.I said I understood and I would have to see him next time I was in town as my Birthday plans had thrown me out of wack…Birthday?!? Well, We can’t have you leave without stopping in on your Birthday!The owner opened his shop for my girlfriend and I like we were celebrities.. we had the entire place to ourselves, we bought between 15-20 shirts and he gave us an amazing price (everything compared to California is an amazing price, but he was really generous and beyond fair).He shared the story of how he had built his business up and we left with not just new clothes, but a renewed sense of pride for the incredible people who continue to show Detroit STILL Hustles Harder.Thank you for being one of the best birthday memories I have ever had!”
