Ordered through the app, shopper didn't communicate at all. My preferences I have set to contact me for substitutions. But all day yesterday and today the tab messages that there's a problem. Someone claimed the order immediately and was unable to edit out some things that I didn't want.
So my order is delivered ($9.95 fee, you have to tip before you check out, so that can't be changed dependingon the service), about half the items aren't there, apparently were out of stock, instead of 96/4 ground beef I was given 80/20 meatloaf mix. I ordered two packages of chicken I received one that expired the same day. I end up with several items I did not want but couldn't change it because the order was changed.
I emailed customer service with the above issues and was told that the shoppers didn't have to communicate with the customer, and that I can return any items that I don't want. I ordered (and paid for delivery, and a tip so almost 40 dollars) for a reason, and I can't get to the store. Spent around 40 on items that I couldn't delete from the order or communicate with shopper (I tried and there was no response). In total, lost about $80, didn't get the food for about half of my meals, and customer service basically refused to give customer service. I used to love Meijer, but not so much now. I don't even want to shop there unless I absolutely have to

Store was clean and we'll stocked, but only two human checkouts were open and all the self-serve registers were in use. Ice cream was melted by the time I got checked out.

"Corporate needs you to fire every cashier you have and install 862 self-checkout stations."
Pretty frustrating seeing two cashiers and 30-ish empty lanes, with the few employees they 'can afford' guiding shoppers to the self-scan lanes every time I'm here. Greedy corporate design (few or no active cashiers, keeping overhead/payroll at a ridiculous minimum, customer service that may or may not have time for you, the bottle return guy whose job it is to get you to leave by taking 30 minutes to respond to the notification on the machine, etc) is pretty blatant here.
I've been HAPPILY shopping across the street at Kroger and also at Aldi and BJ's for a long time now, and will continue to do so until Meijer pays more attention to customer service or offers a discount for scanning & bagging your own items.

Self checkout person is so rude! Avoid her! Just miserable person! Wearing the same mask since beginning of COVID! Maybe get a new one or wash it! Avoid her!

Its Meijer, what’s to say.
Just pay cash or credit
Don’t trust them with your debit card.

Use to love coming to this Meijer, was my favorite. But then a U Scan attendant gets to know you, and all of a sudden questions your purchases. I'm not looking for a therapist. So, needless to say, I will not be back for quite a while. I come here to shop, waste some time, and be alone while I suffer from grief. Do not want to get questioned by someone who just helps with purchases. I felt like I was being judged out of nowhere. So caught off guard I fumbled for words. Should I ask what you buy when you shop or when you are suffering what do you buy? You never know what someone is going through, so be kind. Please!

Anytime. I'm looking for something and can't find it at Meijer close to me. I can always go to this meijer's and find it clean friendliness. Haven't had any problems thus far

Hate the self checkout. 30 lanes and only a couple working forcing you to use the self checkout that's got a huge line.

Ugh. It's so big. The parking lot was full. The aisles were crowded. The shelves were empty. And the stocking carts were unmanned.

Vibes often feel off here, but today was a good experience!

Bottle return is shoved in the back, instead of being upfront and easy to access like other stores (so much for supporting sustainability), and the customer service line was left empty and I had to wait 20 minutes to cash out a bottle return slip.

This store engages in THIEVERY and sells product under FALSE PRETENSES. If you buy a gas card with a defective stripe (a common occurrence by their own admission) don't expect to be able to purchase any actual gas with it, due to idiotic corporate policy and general incompetence. Oh, and you can't even call a local store without ending up on the line with someone on the other side of the planet who can barely speak English. Just a poorly run company all around, and there are plenty of other places that would be happy to take your money (and actually give you what you wanted for it). Zero Stars.

The most boring Meijer this is!!! You hardly find any deals here and you end up paying more for any items which are available in say Belleville Meijer or other Meijers for cheaper price! Seems this Meijer doesn’t believe in clearance and always have high prices for all the items!! Better to visit any other Meijer but this
