Called to have a note put on my account because a pre-authorized transaction went through after I cancelled it & overdrew my account. I called the Cedar Springs location & explained my situation , asking the teller to put a note on my account, then waited on hold for 2 or 3 minutes while "Morgan" asked a bank loan officer about putting a note on my account... Mind you I had already paid my loan for the month, in cash in Sparta & a woman at this location had warned me double dipping would possibly occur & to ask for a note to simply be placed on my account. I did not think to ask for the Sparta teller to do it for me otherwise the process probably would have went smoother because this teller, "Morgan", seemed confused, extremely rude, & unhelpful. When she came back on the line I said "All I need is a note to be put in my file that says I already paid for the month." & She shot back immediately, "MA'AM, IT IS NOT, THAT EASY!" in a loud, rude voice. I hung up. She sounds very young & rude. Will not be going back to this location.

First off, I never go to the bank so I’m a little unfamiliar with how things work. I went to this bank for only the second time to deposit a rent payment into my landlords business account. The first time I did this, whoever helped me was very nice and helpful-made it a smooth process, and explained she set me up to where I could come in or go through the drive thru and it would be a very easy, quick process going forward. I went through the drive thru and pressed the “call teller button” after a few minutes (I thought maybe that’s what you’re supposed to do once I saw the button) and the teller very rudely answered it with “yes??”. I explained what I needed to do and she acted like I was stupid. Saying things like “uh okaay? Instead of being helpful and explaining things to me or telling me what I needed to do. I even explained it was only my second time doing this and how the last woman said I could easily do this going forward. She was very rude the whole time and it was very uncomfortable. I had to ask her what I needed to do this time, if I had to fill out a slip like I did last time, etc instead of her being helpful like I said earlier. She then told me what I needed to do in an extremely rude manner. I even calmly tried asking her why she was being so rude to me because I felt very small and embarrassed and genuinely had no idea why she was being so rude and treating me that way…but she cut me off and said “I can’t hear you over the carrier” and then I saw her in the window rolling her eyes and shaking her head saying something to her co-worker. Very unprofessional. I didn’t get her name because a different woman then sent me my ID and what not back. She was very sweet! The first woman however- curly blonde hair and glasses. Talked with a slight lisp maybe? This was very upsetting and I wish I would have made sure to get her name so I could make a formal complaint. I am also not one to complain…very rarely do I make a complaint about someone or something!

Vary poor service don't want to listen to a thing you got to say I would not recommend this place to anybody they took out a extra 30 dollars we asked them why they won't tell us or talk to me about it saying there was 50 in my account and that they took 30 and now some how we at -30 but they took out 30 right place is a scam

Do not go if you are hoping for a timely transaction!!!!Every time I go service is slow even if you are the only customer!Today was the final straw and I plan to move our accounts as soon as possible to LMCU. I arrived at 9:06 to deposit cash, it took 14 minutes to get my receipt back! There was one other person in the drive-through.

I had a piss poor experience with independent bank in cedar springs that lead to me closing my accounts with them. I will not be returning to that branch or any independent bank branch for that matter. The situation was very avoidable and management didn’t seem to care.

I have been an Independent Bank member for over 20 years. I have had a few issues here and there but overall, I really liked them. I do a lot of automatic payments and today I had a payment hit that was supposed to go out of a different account. This caused me to overdraft. It was my fault so I wasn't too upset. Then I see that they are hitting me with multiple overdraft fees because they have re-arranged the way my bills hit the account that day. I dont' mind paying for my mistake, but paying so much extra because of their greed...this I have a problem with. I have resisted moving my account because of the longevity I have been here but no more. There is no longer just two choices in Cedar Springs. 24 hour grace period here I come.

Just went through drive through to cash a company check. I was the only person in the drive through line when I pulled up. I waited 8 minutes before I pushed the call button the gal said were r eallt busy we will get to you. I said I'm just cashing a check. Then I was for my I'D. I have 3 accounts here plus my mortgage yet had to show I'd. The 2 cars next to me were helped before I was and never got a thank you or nothing. The total time to cash my check was 14 minutes. Very very poor customer service! Probably why my husband and I deal with either Rockford or Howard City branches.

Worst bank ever! So many issues it's crazy. From telling me the wrong dates of when money is available which also hurt my credit! And they said because the payee on the check (which was signed over to me) wasn't on my bank account that I couldn't put it in my account. Don't waste your time. Just made a chase account and will be switching over. Terrible experience. Also, their customer service isn't open 24/7 like chase.

I have called this bank 5 times now in a row an phone not answered it's picked up for brief second then hung up all five times now no one has answered my simple question. Thx yall used to think u guys were awsome but this just put bad taste in my mouth.

Awesome place to do your banking in person or on the go. Very helpful and courteous staff. Very professional home town people.
