Ace Hardware of Clare has been a trusted, locally owned, and operated store since 2005, now proudly owned by the Schafer family. Known as the most helpful hardware store on the planet, it offers a wide range of products including hardware, plumbing, tools, grills, and garden supplies. The store emphasizes friendly and knowledgeable service, with staff members often going the extra mile to assist customers. Visitors frequently praise the staff for their patience, helpful advice, and personal experience, especially when explaining products like smoker grills. The store’s paint department is also recognized for being accommodating and attentive. Customers appreciate the clean environment and the rewards program that recognizes loyal shoppers. While some note that the store cannot process Amazon return QR codes or handle packages without labels, they understand this is not the staff’s fault. In addition to serving the Clare community, the store opened a second location in Lake Isabella in spring 2023. Overall, Ace Hardware of Clare is valued for its helpful service, friendly staff, and dedication to providing quality products and advice.
They usually have a decent selection of parts. Which is why I go here. Great service.

The staff is always friendly and very helpful. You will pay a little more for the products but it sure beats driving a half hour for a big box store where you have to just about beg for help. I just wish their building was bigger so they were able to stock a larger selection, but they are still one of my first go to places.
