I usually go to one of the bigger, corporate establishments in the area for my auto mechanical needs simply out of convenience.
So when I took my vehicle in for an oil change and received a call that I needed over 1500$ worth of work on my suspension, I was a bit alarmed. But my vehicle was driving ok and I didn’t have the money for the repairs at that time, so I decided to put it off.
A few months later, one of my tires wouldn’t hold air and I’d realized that all of them were extremely worn and it was time for new ones.
I returned to the same establishment to have new tires installed and after the installation, I was informed that the amount of work that they said I needed before seemed to increase, along with the cost.
The vehicle was still driving fine, but Im no mechanic. So before spending all that money
I decided to get a second opinion…I took my vehicle to Frank’s as I have in the past for transmission problems. I gave them the print out that was given to me for what was said was needed to be done as far as repairs.
Franks did an oil change and a thorough check on my vehicle and told me that nearly none of the repairs on the printout were in need of immediate attention. Rather I was told to get some more miles out of it and come back later (next oil change) for a check up.
This is an excellent example of a business taking care of its community.
Frank’s transmission had the perfect opportunity to tell me that everything on that list needed to be done and I probably would’ve had them do it, but instead they were honest and saved me a ton of money at this time.
Now, I’m not saying the other place was lying to me about the vehicle being in need of repairs. The truck is a daily driver and constant wear and tear is going to wear parts out. What I am saying is sometimes, corporate policy comes into play, but those policies are not always the necessary solution at that time.
You can bet that when the time does come and these repairs do need to happen, I’ll be sticking with small, local business and I’m going back to Frank’s.
Thank you for taking care of me and looking up for our community.

The staff here got our car fixed as promptly as they could when we were broken down on a cross country road trip. They were kind, communicated prices clearly, and even gave us a list of things to do while we were stranded in town. To follow up they called to check in the next day to make sure everything was running well. A truly great experience all around!

We had a wonderful experience working with Dawn and her team at Franks auto repair. They were very communicative and straightforward with the work making the entire process as enjoyable as your car breaking down can be. Dawn recommended several activities in town and I am so thankful to have worked with such amazing people! Highly recommend

Great service. They could have told me I needed a new clutch but instead they fixed a part within the system for a lot less money. Communication was very good. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing transmission work. They will definitely get my business if I have any other transmission issues.

Car went there to have radiator replaced. Quoted $800 originally. Get a call from them saying they need an additional almost $200 to flush the system, which should be included in pricing as it is required for a new radiator. Get another call today saying they need to flush it again and charge me yet again. So we went from $800 to over a grand. Young girl on the phone is unprofessional and rude basically saying “this is just how it is”. Point being they already charged me once and now again for something they already flushed? Some shady things going on at this shop.

Franks transmission has took care of my vehicles for years. The ladies in the office are very nice and will explain everything to you. For over 10 years any repair they have done, I've never had any problem with it. When they fix it is fixed right! They take care of your vehicle like it's there own. If I have a problem in the future this is where my truck will go. Thank you Franks for your exceptional service!!

Did a great job getting my car back to me in timely fashion. Everything they did was amazing and Kelly was super communicative on what was wrong and updating me ASAP as she found out more. I’ll still choose Franks over most everyone else and give them 5 stars for service because they are good, thanks Kelly and to the whole team at Franks! Choose Franks! Choose Local!

Franks transmission had my car for over 30 days, the prices were insanely high, I got my car back and the problem wasn't even fixed, even after paying them a diagnostic fee so they could figure out what was wrong. They had me pre pay 80% of the repairs and I lived over 100 miles away so I had to use a card which they charged me extra to use. I would NOT recommend taking your car here for any repairs.

They left my 2014 charger a literal basket case. USE AT OWN RISK
If this is the kind of work they are okay with putting out…

I was given an estimate of 4-5k. After I had paid them to diagnose I was told they had “miss spoke” and it would be $6,000 which is much more than a new transmission.
I was told 1 week and it was over 2 weeks

Hands down one of the easiest shops I’ve ever visited so far. Also the only shop I’ve ever visited that has a website that allows you to check work progress and what exactly is wrong with pictures and codes uploaded. Dawn was extremely helpful and friendly, also helped answer any questions while showing why and how an issue could be happening. She also solved a system problem that could’ve charged me $900+ but instead I was only charged $500. Even though this place specializes in transmissions I would honestly consider taking my stuff up here anytime I have an issue I can’t figure out myself just because of how seamless the whole thing was. Extremely professional. Thank you guys
