“Love the updated paint job! I was there wondering around looking for a 12 pack of Coors and couldn't find it. Guy behind the counter noticed and asked if I needed help. Told him and he showed me the beer cave! Don't know when you updated it. I've been to the store here and there for the past 35 years, but I like it.”
“Really nice guy running the store. Very friendly and welcoming. I got caught in the rain on my motorcycle two hours away from home, and he gave me a place to stay to wait for my friend with a trailer. Was going to close up the shop at 9 and he kept it open for me, he put helping me in front of going out to eat with his family. I cannot thank him enough. You're such a great guy man!”
“growing up we always called in the "channel stop".. and then it was vacant for a few years :(Shorts offers good food and a wide variety of beverages with the convenience of being right on the channel. Docking used to always be a challenge, as there were about 3-4 parallel spots to pull up to; but Shorts has added more docking and have dock attendants on the weekends to assist boaters with coming/going. If you're on the chain, I definitely encourage making Shorts a pitstop on your journeys!!”

“Pretty typical party store. Nice selection of beers. Thought I was walking out empty-handed until I noticed the display of 2022(!?) Goose Island bourbon barrels! 3 different varieties, maybe 15 bottles total. Fingers crossed the one I picked has been well cared for.”
“Got offered and interview here but didn't follow up on it.. The first time I applied I think they over looked me because of my age and pretty much said so.. But on the third try BAM but I didn't follow up because of the first response... I m told this is a great place to work so if you like apply.”
“I want to give a huge shoutout to the manager, Justice! My brother, who is homeless and struggles with mental health challenges, had left his phone behind. When I called, she kindly answered, reassured me that the phone was safe, and let me know it was there. I was so anxious—especially since he was in the middle of an episode and not having his phone made things even scarier.
I told her I’d come pick it up, though it would take me about 45 minutes. By the time I arrived, my brother had actually come back, and Justice immediately asked him if he was missing a phone and bag. She even told him I was on my way and warmly invited him to wait there until I arrived.
Her kindness, patience, and understanding made my brother feel safe and comfortable during a very vulnerable moment. We need more people like her in this world, and I’ll forever be grateful for the way she went above and beyond! ?”
