I want to share a special memory regarding the Abbott Magic store. Over 45 years ago, when I was a kid, a family friend used to take me to the Abbott Store. We'd spend hours just being there and looking around.
Our fascination with magic back then still brings fond memories of my childhood. The Abbott Magic store and the magic there have always held a special place in my heart. Watching magic performances, I've grown to cringe when magicians refer to their work as 'tricks.' I believe Houdini or Blackstone said that magic is an ILLUSION, not a trick. A trick implies an attempt to deceive the audience, whereas an ILLUSION captivates and enthralls them. Magic is all about entertaining and INSPIRING a sense of WONDER and AMAZEMENT.
I'd highly recommend anyone make a memorable trip to the LARGEST MAGIC STORE - Abbott's.
I hope the Abbott Magic store lives on for another hundred years.

This is a classic Magician's supply store filled with a huge variety of props. Many were built here by the Abbott company and so are only available here. A very fun place to visit! Great quality magic trick equipment. Helpful and very knowledgeable staff.

Terrible online service - list out of stock items as in-stock, take your money, then don't tell you until 10 days or so after you've placed an order. ZERO communication from the shop until I initiated it (after TEN days).Second time this has happened. Also ordered a "Flat Rabbit" and it was a literal piece of junk- felt drawn on with magic marker. It's a shame that a once giant of the magic shop industry is now saddled with such poor customer service. I will continue to use Penguin or Vanishing Inc. - their customer service is always top notch.

Brought my kids here to check out when we were visiting the area. It has tons or old magic photos and lots to look at. The workers will be able to show you a lot of magic tricks. Of course, as they say when you ask how it's done is "the trick is told when the trick is sold." So it's a buy and learn. Unless you want to be cheap and look online but that takes the magic out of it.There are magic tricks ranging from cheap $10 ones to much more expensive. Depending on what you're looking for. I highly recommend coming in and checking out the store in person. There are a lot for beginners. I'm glad my kids will be able to go home, practice, and head back to school with a trick to show off to their friends and classmates.

Have done business twice with this company and it has been troublesome and costly. Both occasions involved a return and refund, having been sent the wrong item. The first occasion four years ago was a real battle getting a return/refund having been sent the wrong item but a return was eventually secured after complaining publicly on a Facebook review. The return was offered only in exchange for taking the review down! You will see Abbotts have since disabled their Facebook review facility as I was not the only one having issues. The second time a few weeks ago was less troublesome getting a return after opening a PayPal case but it did cost the shipping both ways. The item was not quite as advertised and wasn’t functional. It did require an international phone call from the U.K. to the USA after two weeks as it had not been sent and there was no reply to messages. When it did arrive the item was of no use.You will see other negative reviewers on Google Review reporting issues of poor communication. I am sure there are many satisfied customers at Abbotts but it’s probably best to walk in to their charming shop and see before you buy. There are more proactive and communicative magic dealers around.

Magic Festival is far to expensive for the average person. $350 just to ENTER the vendor room. If you are a casual fan of magic or spook shows, this event is not for you. Never got a response to the email to them. Called everyday for a week to get details before someone finally answered the phone. Glad they did before I drove the hour to the dealer room before I found out there was a 350 charge just to see the vendor I was looking to buy from.

The grandfather of magic shops. An old building, squeaky floor, but a lot of unique magic tricks and illusions

I stopped in on a whim because I was looking for something to do and got nostalgic for the neighborhood magic shop in my home town. My experience here was almost identical, a laid back drop in to talk to some people Doing what they love. I definitely will return if I'm back in the area!

Absolutely zero communication from this business.Every item purchased was previously opened. One item was missing the original packaging box the item was to come in. Bag was even torn open.Phone calls made. No one picked up.E-mails sent, again... no response.I will NOT recommend this business. My advice is to shop some where else.
