The farm is very unique with all the wandering animals. The house was a bit cluttered with extra furniture and knick-knacks. And the location, it seemed to be fine for our little day trips made to Frankenmuth & Dearborn.

I can't even begin to describe how amazing this place is! Staying at a working farm - one who rescues animals - is great to begin with. But the way it just forces you to slow down is phenomenal. Stunning views, well-stocked house. Beautiful porches. Comfy places to hang out inside and out. Nice beds, nice bathrooms. I give this place my absolute highest recommendation.

I guess I didn't grasp the magnitude of this place and it's caretaker Maureen until this visit. She spent more time with us, and we got to hear the stories of her rescues. She knows each and every creature and their stories. A lot of people might think that some animals are poorly cared for, but then you learn how she takes in challenged, old, and dying creatures and gives them a dignified existence. That they might flourish despite their challenges. She is a modern-day Saint Francis. To me, this place is holy, a sacred space. The goats are full of magical mischief, and there is a goose who thinks he is a goat. It is uproariously funny to watch. We are blessed to be able to come here once a year and marvel in this menagerie of creatures great and small.Papa Joe has become a dear friend of mine and even gave me a hug this time. He's a 2,000 pound former race horse.Bring carrots and apples, you won't regret it. The horses are gentle. The goats are hilarious. The turkey likes to be petted.Zemmer park is behind her property.God bless you Maureen and your amazing contributions to our world. Making it a better, more beautiful, kinder place.

Maurine is a very nice host who made feel welcome. Wonderful place for family Christmas with kids and grandkids. Animals were fun for grandkids. Definitly recommend for a family getaway away from everything.

Great place to stay. Charming house. Beautiful farm. Owner is very nice and very willing to help. We enjoyed the all the animals, the fire pit, fishing, swimming and kayaking in the nearby lake. No need to leave the property.

We had a great time. The horses were beautiful and the property itself as well. We enjoyed a campfire, swimming and feeding horses carrots and apples while visiting my folks in Lapeer.
