This bank is the worst. I’ve had it for 2 days they made me go into the branch twice for identity verification because I ordered the card online bc they offer a service to open an account online. They blamed me for using the online service then deactivated my cards before I could activate them.
Then the branch manager Digla said she has been there for 14 years and has never seen a fraud block removed from the card and reopened she told me she had to help other customers even though we were not done resolving my issue. I then had to call customer service myself and had them remove the block on the card.
In addition they charged me a fee to expedite the card even though the cards they sent me were not able to be activated. They said they would wave the fee and they didn’t. It took me talking to 6 different people and going in person twice for me to fix the issue myself.
Very disappointed will not continue to bank with them.

I drove all the way to the Alpine NW location to meet with a representative to discuss an issue involving my checking account and possibly double billing by Fifth Third Bank.
When I arrived a woman teller/assistant manager (?) called me over to the counter. I explained to her why I wanted to speak to someone and she asked if I had an appointment. I told her I hadn't and didn't think it would be a problem since there were assistant managers occupying 3 different cubicles with no other customers waiting in the bank or meeting with customers in their cubicles.
She then asked if I had called the "Disputes" number. I told her I hadn't because it was a complicated issue and anyway hadn't had any success calling it on another matter. She then said she was going to give me the "Disputes" number to call and refused to allow me to meet with one of the assistant managers, all of whom were just sitting in their cubicles alone.
Great service was never a strength of Fifth Third and now they've even reduced the number of their banks and ATMs. None of the banks in Grand Rapids have stellar reputations for customer service, but Fifth Third is at the bottom of the trash heap.

Subpar service policies. Fifth-third must be the only bank that doesn't allow you to exchange coins for bills or bills for coins without being a member.

FIFTH 3RD BANK. CALLED 911 ON ME. I WENT TO MY BANK TO WITHDRAW 35$ I GOT DETAINED BY THE SHERIFF!!!! I COMMITTED NO CRIME . I AM A MEMBER FOR 7+ YEARS, Clear discrimination against the unhoused. UPDATE BANNED FOR LIFE. MANAGER SAID I LOOK HOMELESS. ANY LAWYERS THAT CAN HELP ME FILE SUIT.

The service at this bank is not a big problem. The problem is that the bank is not really handicapped accessible. They have the right parking out front but they do not have electronic access doors for people in wheelchairs. 53, with all the money they have, can afford to fix this issue.

If I could rate ZERO STARS, I would!!! These people who work there are rude and act like they don’t want to be there. I’ve had issues with them shorting me money and when I call back, NO ONE answers the phone. I’ve called 4 times and still nothing. Definitely do not recommend banking at this location

If I could give zero stars I would. I operate a business and have used multiple 5/3rd branches. This branch goes out of its way to make running your business more difficult. They all need a lesson in customer service, each and every member of this branch makes you feel like an inconvenience and they are going out of there way to help you. I assume this comes from the branch manager, when you walk into this location everyone that works there looks like they hate there job and their service reflects that.When you look at the Google reviews and you have 2 stars that is a sign there are issues and senior leadership should step in and make a change, I will be taking my business banking to your friendlier competitor.

IGNORANCE IS NOT MY BLISS!!!Posting for a visit after I stopped by Sonic across the street...I don't know when it became socially acceptable to become rude and catch an attitude as a banker let alone the one trying to open my account...I walked out wayyy before they even got me in the death trap of that judgmental accountant...Quite frankly, I don't like to have people point out how young I appear rather than inquire and gain the knowledge from my I.D. itself.
