“I called on a whim to order a pizza as it's been 100 years since I've had a slice. It was a beautiful evening as the last day of winter 2021 was coming to a close. Even tho it was after 4. Mark still had the oven on. Luckily for me as I was coming up fr Petoskey. He was happy to take care of my order, offered suggestions & said 5:30 was the best he could do. I was fine w/ that since I took my time enjoying our beautiful scenery here in Emmet Co. I'm pretty sure he was alone @ the store, tho it was steady w/ customers. I came in & he pretty much dropped what he was doing ( others patiently waited) cut my packaged & rang me up. He let me know, cash only since the C/C machine was down. I said no problem I have cash. Plus the store had numerous signs letting customers know. As I drove off I wasn't going to wait to dive in! It smelled amazing! Plus I was going to take the scenic drive back to P. Twn. I couldn't wait I drove to the Keller boat launch, enjoyed a couple slices & the view. But what really makes this post is that Mark called & left a voicemail ( since as us locals know cell service is sketchy!) to let me know prior that he couldn't take cash. W/ all going on in the world it's the little things that actually are big acts of customer kindness, that we are missing these days! I hope Mark see this! Thx again Stace”

“The Village Mart is a great slice of Michigan…warm, friendly faces, fabulous home cooked comfort food, sweet treats, always some new swag, and the true hub of our Village. Stop in and say hi! They have everything you need, plus gasoline!”

“Appeal by Association is the phrase that comes to mind when visiting The Bliss Store. This quaint shop parlayed decades of benign neglect into a gold mine. Out in the middle of nowhere, this little store has been saved by the horsey set. It is close to the polo fields of Bliss. Translation..the shopkeeper is able to sell soft cheeses and other comestables at premium prices. And why not? Caveat-- these cunning foxes have declined to put price tags on many of their soft goods. They also don't want to give you a receipt save for in text or email form. If you don't want to deal with whatever marketing headaches that giving out your personal info out brings... too bad.”
