Don't get a lumbar puncture here. They messed up every single step, from the IV (gave me a swollen arm) to the puncture (hit a nerve) to the recovery (left me for 3 hours without checking on me after promising my husband id be taken care of and given water and a snack since i wasnt allowed to eat or drink the day before). This location used to be 5 star years ago, now every time I go there are issues

IF YOU OR YOUR FAMILY MEMBER ARE A CANCER PATIENT, TRANSFER HOSPITALS. PLEASE I DON'T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO YOU. I would just like to say that I have seen plenty of good reviews from other hospitals, so take the rating from this hospital and see it as it is don't look around it. My dad had an 80% chance of beating his leukemia that he was diagnosed with a few weeks prior , at the age of 55 , but instead he got sepsis and there were so many things that went wrong in the process that I don't want anybody else's family to ever have to go through. To start off they messed up his chemo order as soon as we had heard this we knew the communication at this hospital was horrible especially after being told it was horrible so my sister and I wanted to transfer him but also knew then we would have to start the process all over again. Moving past that my dad then got moved to the ICU because he started to not do well after chemo, which was expected but till later found out it was because he got sepsis which is an infection that your body usually can't fight off, especially after chemo. after everything that happened after I believe that it was a Hospital's fault by putting in his chemo port too early and not sterilizing it that he got sepsis. The following happened because the healthcare team there is not sensitive to the situation at all: We got a phone call tonight that he quoted saying that he died which is not something you discuss over the phone. prior to that phone call my sister and I called an hour before asking if we could visit our dad., Myself (21) and my sister (26), they told us know, because visiting hours were supposed to be over even though that would've been the last time I would've ever gotten to speak to my dad , they took that away from me. and then on top of it all their family lounge sucks is not comfortable at all and also disgusting to the point you wonder if it EVER.gets cleaned . I really wish for a healthcare system that I was being overdramatic during all of this but many of my family members had been at that hospital for 12 to 24 hours straight, staying the night from October 2nd to October 15th and we didn't see the family lounge get touched , especially having to ask for paper towel and toilet paper in the bathroom. if you want to be there for your family member, I suggest bring an air mattress because if you take the furniture out of the hallway that nobody uses to sleep on for the night, then you will get security to come into the room. The staff simply does not give a **** about what you are dealing with and will make you not want to be there. and all that being said, I will say there are a few good nurses there, but they even openly admit how terrible of a wrap the hospital gets and that they understand. Lastly , the Hospital didn't even know the proper standby and procedures for my dad so as a family, we had to post to sign on the door, saying to wear masks, hand sanitize, and keep the door closed. two days had gone on without any of that happening with my dad being super sensitive to germs, NURSING 101.

I had a major operation done and my insurance company was giving a hard time with paying for the meds ordered by the physician, I wanted to pay cash so I wouldn't be in pain while under review from insurance and they wouldn't let me. They said I needed a denial! Needless to say I went 3 days in pain because my surgery was on a Friday and the hospital and insurance screwed me over. So if your having a surgery there don't use the pharmacy because of any insurance issues, they won't give you your meds for cash

This review is for the E.R. only. The care I received on the floor was wonderful. I went by ambulance having suffered from abdominal pain for 30 hrs. I went through intake and I was placed in a chair in a dark hall and left there. I was still in my street clothes. I waited and waited, but received no care whatsoever. I was admitted at 2:30 A.M. At that time, an ultrasound and a cat were ordered. I waited till around 6-7 a.m., still in pain. That's when I received the US. It showed that I had appendicitis. I wasn't told anything. I just was sent back to sit in the chair, still in pain, and still in my street clothes. At around 8 am, I began vomiting over myself and the floor. Thank God, another pts family member brought me a basin and paper towels. I still wasn't receiving any kind of care from the staff. A very short time later, a housekeeper came and cleaned up the floor. I was sitting there a mess thinking they take good care of the floors. I didn't want to die in that chair. I felt like I was going to die without even having a place to lie down. I got up and found the nurses and told them I wanted to leave. That's when I was told that I had appendicitis and needed an operation. That's when they found out that my temperature was 102.9. It was amazing how quickly I got the Cat scan. Once it showed an early perforation, I was taken to the o.r. asap. I was treated very well after that. However, there's no excuse for making me wait 6 hours for that CAT scan. I had to sit in that chair in pain for 6 hours. Nobody checked on me. Nobody took my temperature during those hours. Maybe they could have brought my temp down before things got so bad. Nobody bothered before they saw a hint of a wrongful death suit in their future. Then, they bothered.

They have been constantly late on sending medicine to nurses. Extremely disappointing. I will never have a procedure here again. It’s clear their reviews are so poor. I advise everyone to see other care. 2.9 is generous. They r definitely not for the patients. I just can’t say how poor this is here.

So this review is purely about their cafeteria staff and the food they produce. Bland for any of the preppared meals on top of huge inconsistancy between the meals and how their prepared. Me and my girlfriend have recieved over 6 different meals that were bland and just wrong, missing ingredients and such. Also i get a vibe as if the guest dish isnt as importance as the patients EVEN THOUGH YOURE THE PATIENTS GUEST. Very confusing, just save your money and get food somewhere else

Shitty place.

I went to this hospital not knowing I could go elsewhere being new to the area and the issues I was having weren't able to be resolved at the Urgent Care so they sent me to Dearborn Beaumont. Now, I will am a review writer and have both negative and positive things to say about all types of establishments but I have to tell you, this was one of the worst hospital experiences ever. Not that I am a frequent flyer but I know what kind of care I should expect from an establishment that is supposed to be caring and professional. I found none of that with this facility. The hallways were filled with beds and chairs (People in them) and some people had been there for days. Waiting. I was forgotten about on several occasions, I had to go remind the staff that I was still there. I could go on about this but I won't. Security is a joke as well. Guy comes in smoking and they warned him 3 different times. Never fell through with the warnings. Anyway, Please find another place to find your health solutions and maybe the staff will be able to take more classes on kindness, compassion and professionalism. Oh, I do have one good thing to say, I didn't have to stay there all night!

Beaumont Dearborn is the truest definition I've found of a double edged sword: truly amazing doctors and nursing staff, gorgeous clean facilities; but the absolute WORST and most predatory billing/medical coding practices I've ever experienced - and a dangerous parking structure without cameras so people can hit your car and drive off without recourse while you're inside the building being treated. I've already made a formal complaint with the Michigan.gov Bureau of Community and Health Systems (BCHS) about their billing/medical coding departments. They will call you the week before your surgery, the day before your surgery, and even hound you when you check in for your surgery about payment - before they've actually submitted anything to your insurance so it's an estimate. Even if you do your research like me, and checked with your Insurance company about approval, and have a written note with the medical billing codes that need to be used, they will ignore you. If it's for surgery and they code it incorrectly that means they're asking you for $6,000 without blinking. Nevermind that you're nervous about being cut open next week/tomorrow/today, where's their money? They make more money from your insurance when performing non-preventative care services so if there is any wiggle room on your medical coding (like if it could go either way) they are ALWAYS going to pick the most expensive option so they can squeeze more out of your insurance and unfortunately you. My surgery was preventative care and should have been 100% covered, but ope it could have also qualified for another code that made them more money so they used that instead. They excuse this disgusting predatory behavior on their patients by saying that their CPT Assistant (a medical coding tool program) says it's 'ok' (because why would morality/human compassion matter at a hospital??? The computer says it's okay.) when you protest (because who has $6K just sitting around) they tell you they'll send it to a supervisor for medical coding review, and then months pass without word from them and without a single warning of the ruling the Supervisor review came back with they send it to their debt collection agency (United Collections Bureau) and you're suddenly being called by debt collectors for a medical bill that would be 100% paid for if they just coded it correctly. Seriously disgusting that this is legally allowed to occur, there should really be a moral statute in place for every part of the healthcare industry.

Rude and we were lied to from the pharmacist. I called when I was there and than when I asked the question in person the same person who answered the phone told me the exact opposite and when I called them out on it that i just talked to someone there they said no one called and that's not how we give our meds. They than told me I can only get prescription from them if I am currently in the hospital. So if I'm currently in the hospital how an I down here referred by the doctor from when I was in the hospital to be filled on my way out. . point is they lied to me even when called out on it and save your $ and go to a mom n pop pharmacy. They are the ones who will give better deals and care about us

Super impressed by quick, kind, thorough help & response. We called and Tangela took time to help answer or question, but made a call on our behalf, followed-up and patiently gave generous time and help in an effort to assist us. Incredibly pleased with phone help/response, and delivery service. For a particular prescription, they also had best local price.

My husband was admitted via Ambulance to Oakwood ( Jokewood) on Friday Feb. 3rd 2023 for irregular heart beat, low Oxygen levels, at home he was drinking fluids and urinating fine but whoever decided to pour in 2 liters of fluids into his Arm got it wrong, you don't give wide open fluids to an older person as it could cause hear failure, but it all went in to the tissues of his Arm instead of his body because they used a bad vein that blew up right away and the fluid leaked under his skin causing horrendous damage and tremendous pain, the skin peeled away and blistered, it was horrible, from then on they mismanaged his care. They didn't bother to order his meds so when I found him the next day he was going through severe withdrawal from his meds, what shocked me it didn't seem to bother them his arm was so badly messed up or the fact they didn't recognize he was going through withdrawal, they are dumbed down and stupid, the Nursing Aides are lazy and rude and Management are afraid of them, one Aide lied because I called him lazy so he called Security to have me kicked out on the basis I used the N word yeh it's too easy to lie and use that race card to get your own way when someone actually has the ba*** to tell you to your face "do your job". It only gets worse, because he was confused my daughter came in and found his food tray sitting there untouched and cold nobody bothered to feed him again this was the job of the Aides but where were they??? I need to bring litigation against this so called " Hospital" for the many fu*** ups that racked up very quickly in the several days he was here. All the horror stories you heard are TRUE

WARNING! My husband was a patient there. We did not even want togo to Beaumont. The ambulance took us there. he was was suppose to be a 23 hour stay. We ended up there a week, without a diagnosis and resolution of his issues. We came out - having to go to court and having a citation from the hospital , due to he was confused . He hit a nurse. He is not violent person- 60 years old and never had record. Now he has probation and fine. . Let alone we have the hospital bill. My husband is disabled/ had to take an early retirement and uses a cane to walk. He is not a well person and has probation for a year. Do not go to Beaumont, especially if you're confused. You might come out having to go to court. This is insane , What is the world coming too.
