I would like to say something about gleaners but I don't know what to say...I go to one of their centers for food and I'm not complaining about them but I would like to have more of a variety of different things when I go each month. I go to Cappuccin and I get the same thing every month and I still have stuff from the last time I was there in December. I understand that food is expensive and it's not easy to supply all the places in need of food for people like me that are in need of extra food to complete the month, But I also feel like there are other places that give out more food and different varieties Than a pkg of chicken leg quarters and hot dogs every single month. I might just turn into a hot dog w/ chicken legs. I'm beyond tired of eating the same food.is there somewhere else I can go to get food from. At least until I get hur food stamps this month. And honesty I am desperately in need of bread, butter, and milk currently. But I near get anything wire that at Cappuchin .. I know Ive gotten a gullon of milk a few yrs ago at a church that I used to live by, but now i belive I can only go to Cappuchin to get food.

I worked for them through the Jefferson house program. Unlike the Salvation Army ARC (which only pays clients a dollar per week to start and a max of 24 dollars per week, which is slave labor) we were payed within labor law standards. Not only that but we were treated kindly and with respect. The friars were very much into their vows of poverty and obedience to rome and and never asked us to put forth more effort than they would put forward themselves. And the sheer volume of help they were able to give to families and individuals in need just boggles my mind. God bless Br. Rob, Br. Gary, Br. Dejin, Br. Igor and all the others who selflessly give their entire lives in service of others without the expectation of a single cent of personal compensation. God bless the Blessed Solanus Casey and every thing he started all those decades ago and what it has grown into.

I visited this place with my children. I don't know why. I was impressed. They only gave me 5 cans of tuna. That was all. I wasted my time.

I volunteered for Gleaners Food Bank and worked in the office for two years or so. What an awesome organization. It was an honor to volunteer for Gleaners. I worked with some of the nicest caring people. Everyone at this location does such an excellent job keeping all the food and produce fresh. I just love that Gleaners fights daily to keep people all over the Detroit Area fed. No one should go hungry. I envision a crucifix hanging from the sky over the Gleaners facility on Beaufait protecting everyone who works there during the day. God bless everyone at Gleaners for all that they do.
