The GM Renaissance Center is Detroit's most iconic skyscraper and the global headquarters for General Motors. It is a striking example of brutalist architecture, a bold and monolithic symbol of the city's resilience and ambition. The complex is a hub for business, dining, and events, featuring a hotel and restaurants. Visitors can explore the lobby and an area with cool cars on display. The views of the riverfront and city from the building are breathtaking and amazing. Its architecture is very unique and futuristic, feeling like a time capsule of 1970s design. The location is very convenient, with a Detroit People Mover station and a connecting tunnel, and it provides direct access to the Detroit Riverwalk.
Loved the city view from the 60th floor. Staff was extremely helpful. Breakfast was a cut above. Rooms are small, especially the bathrooms. But we loved the floor to ceiling, wall to wall exterior window. Amazing!

Can't beat free. I went here with my septuagenarian dad, who appreciated all the classic cars and had personal memories linked with some of them. There is also a Panera in there and people are free to walk around. There is a Riverwalk outside that's not bad but in desperate need for some trees and shade.
