I hired Michael Hartt for my estate sale and am so sorry I did. First off, when I interviewed him I asked if he had a “store” where he sold antiques. He assured me that he did NOT. Yet here it is. He basically stole items that he sold to himself at much reduced prices that we had discussed and even had the gall to charge me a commission for doing so. What a disgraceful and dishonest man. Steer clear of this shameful estate sale company.

Went to the estate sale in Memphis, MI. Third day of sale & there weren't many things sold. Minimal discounts, not everything was open & only one man with a helper working. Usually, there's a set discount on each day of the sale, nope. I won't go to another Hartt sale.

Worst experience. He has the 'expert' sales pitch down but believe me, it's all empty words. He pilfered my family belongings away like he was running a filthy, disorganized garage sale. You would be better off running the sale yourself.

Run! Beware of misleading, arrogant talk. Owner told us everything we wanted to hear so we contracted with him to sell my parent's belongings. The sale was unorganized, incomplete and executed more like a sidewalk sale rather than a professional Estate Sale. I think he took the job more to pick through everything rather than sell it. Antiques, supposedly his specialty, were not sold. Sales quantity and proceeds were well below what he anticipated and when questioned all we got was conflicting excuses, including accusations of theft without taking a shred of responsibility. Definitely an injustice to my parents.

I stopped going to his sale’s YEAR’S ago due to his overpriced junk. At the time when I was attending his sales I was going to Frank Boo’s and DuMouchelles spending $40,000 to $80,000 a month. NOWAY will I pay 3 time’s higher for something at his Estate Sale’s because he Think’s it’s worth that price. Do yourself a favor and NOT attend any Hartt sale…

As the other (real) reviewers have pointed out, the owner is extremely rude and the prices at his estate sales are not based in reality. What’s worse, he also will not honor his own posted price list if he thinks he can squeeze an extra dollar or two out of a customer. I tried to purchase 6 items (3 of which were damaged, but salvageable) which, according to his price list were $1 each. I asked him if he would work with me on the price of the damaged ones and showed him, very politely, what the issues were. Without even looking he just tossed off, “$7 for these.” When I questioned how it could possibly be $7 for 6 one-dollar items (never minding that 3 were damaged) he told me it was his sale and he could charge anything he wanted. I pointed out HIS OWN price list and he said I should leave and I was not welcome to attend his future sales. Ha! No problem there, friend. BEWARE!

People have no idea what they're looking at when they come to a sale. They laugh when a piece of furniture from the 1800s is over $100. They want everything as close to free as they can get it. Jealous people making bad reviews because they can't afford quality items.

Michael Hartt did an estate sale recently at our home in Grosse Pointe Park. He was supposed to be here yesterday at 3:00 pm to settle up and get his junk from our home that he tried to sell. It took us six hours to clean up after him and he is now not returning our calls. We are filing a police report.

Ridiculously overpriced. It’s an insult to people that take the time to do their research on items, especially before going to his sales. Buyer beware!

Ridiculously overpriced. I do agree that he charges either the highest something goes for on eBay, or much, much, much more! It's an insult to people that take the time to do their research on items, especially before going to his sales. Buyer beware!

I met the owner at a sale and he was incredibly rude. Just like everyone else had said. How are you able to sell anything that way. I won't be using his company.

Ridiculous idea of value. Wants to base his pricing on the highest amount ever received on eBay. If he wants top dollar, he should scout hundreds of estate sales for the rare collectible item, photo it, write a listing, answer any and all questions, package and mail the item and then pay eBay fees. This man is NOT good at what he does. Regularly argues and disputes with customers. I am glad to forgo any treasures he might be selling to never have to deal with him again.

PLEASE BEWARE!!!worst. estate. sale. company. ever.period, point blank.he purposely doesnt mark items so he can price on the fly, he was rude to more than one customer in front of a line of us. i watched him actually change a price of an item i was interested in to a cheaper price to a more attractive women, after i said i was no longer interested. this man has miserable divorcee/ arrogant & unqualified written all over him. i hope a potential customer sees this review because, if you trust the man to do right by you at an estate sale you hire him for, you will NOT get the progress you except. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND ON AN ITEM: he was get a serious 'tude and make comments on how you shouldnt come if you cant afford things and that he will buy the item in question instead.no items has stickers, there were no price sheets to refer to. its all determined at the end by mr. micheal hartt and these prices come out his big butt.all items are scattered about, in boxes left to dig through and the entire situation was choatic with a real estate open house happening at the same time, leading people to constantly bump into each other. it was a serious saftey hazard.please beware. please, please, please treat your/ your loved ones homes and belonging with dignity and find a different company that will treat the afforementioned the same.

Buy from the pompous gas bag so he can repair his fence. Hartt, makes it easy to buy too - he always has "Another Historic Indian Village Estate Sale" out of his garage a few times/year.
