Main | Detroit Public Library is a historic and iconic landmark in the city, offering a unique blend of architectural grandeur and welcoming library services. The exterior of the building is described as "absolutely gorgeous" and a "landmark of a library," with visitors noting the impressive security staff who provide helpful guidance. Inside, the library boasts a variety of comfortable spaces for reading, studying, and even enjoying live music performances in the basement. The staff are widely praised as "friendly and helpful," catering to the needs of visitors, including assisting with book donations. However, some guests have noted that the library's interior could benefit from modernization, with outdated computer equipment and a lack of multimedia tools. Visitors are encouraged to take the time to soak in the building's rich history and connection to Detroit's artistic heritage. Overall, Main | Detroit Public Library is a beloved community hub that offers a unique and immersive experience for all who step through its doors.

Absolutely gorgeous! An incredible security guard V. Hall instructed us to check out the 3rd floor and let us know some amazing features in this landmark of a library. Librarians were super helpful and friendly as well!

The staff are friendly and helpful. There's nice spots to read downstairs, and capitating art and study spaces upstairs. I saw a jazz performance in the basement once.
