This place has a great, friendly welcoming, community vibe and I always feel great after class. The teachers are very dedicated and it's a nice local biz alternative to the big chains. sometimes the online booking process can be a little glitchy or schedules can change so be sure to check bf you go.

Though I'm out of shape, this was a good unexpected workout...a sneak body aching & sweat type like yoga. It was way more intense than I thought. Would recommend.

I’ve done pure barre on & off for like 9 years, been a member at a few different studios. its a great full body work out, kind of like pilates. i love that i can always modify when i have injuries or make it more challenging when i want to push myself. I also love all the encouragement & lil phrases the teachers give thruout class. I definitely feel stronger & see results when i’m attending regularly. having a membership helps bring the cost down & it helps me stay accountable to going. The teachers at the Detroit studio are all amazing & the owner Katie is very kind!!if you’re new to training, take a few classes to catch on to technique. parking sucks cuz its downtown but they validate if you park in the 1CM garage (a short walk from the studio) also plan to be early cuz the doors are locked when class starts.

In terms of the class it was super fun and challenging!! The instructor was engaging and sweet. They texted me where I could park in a parking garage and at the end they gives you a voucher for free parking! I feel so toned and so empowered after one class already! If you're on the fence take this as a sign to take their free class!

Very nice and professional instructor Megan, she made me feel welcomed and confident for my first class. She asked if I was comfortable being in the front of the class, ensured I was next to someone experienced so I could follow along, and she was articulate and enthused throughout the class. The location is small but warm and clean. The lockers seemed to be on the fritz (locks werent working) but there were enough lockers for the smallish class I attended. I think barre is a good supplemental workout if you lift weights or run regularly.

I attended the noon session - (Pure Barre Classic) today / with Kendall. She couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful and she was a great instructor! Her class was exactly what I needed, and made me realize I really need to focus on getting my work outs in! It was well organized with perfect flow. And I don't get the previous negative reviews -- I found this place pretty great and in a nice location. I'll be back!

I’ve had sort of a “fitness renaissance” in my life. I’m 35 years old and started the year at the heaviest I’ve ever been. I grew up as an athlete and was pretty fit into my mid-20s, but I’ve since become overweight and lazy.

I hate to leave a 1-star review after enjoying this studio for so long, but I had a bad experience that I hope others don't have to deal with, so I wanted to share... I stopped attending the studio February 2020. In August, I received a call from a collections agency stating I owed $360 to this studio, even though I hadn't attended classes all year and did not authorize any membership renewals. I reached out via email and phone repeatedly to Pure Barre to discuss, but received no communication. I was worried about the charge affecting my credit score, so I paid it and thought that would be the end. Several months later, I receive another call from the same collections agency, this time for a charge of $419 for Pure Barre. Again, I called and emailed repeatedly, even emailing/calling the corporate headquarters, but received no communication from Pure Barre regarding this charge. I paid the collection because I'm worried about the impact on my credit score, but reached out to Pure Barre to request a refund. I haven't attended class since February 2020 and received zero communication from Pure Barre but yet I owed collections over $700 !?!? This is inexcusable to me and I still haven't received a refund. I understand covid has been tough for fitness studios, but by conducting their business this way, Pure Detroit/Birmingham has lost a customer (and I'm sure I'm not the only one).

I have been to several Pure Barre studios over the years, but the Detroit studio is easily a favorite. The owner is present often and attentive to keeping the studio & equipment immaculate and modern. They are always coming up with fun events, promotions, collaborations with local businesses and they really make an effort at fostering a sense of community amongst clients. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Mary Liz is such a strong instructor; Katie's transitions are flawless and her sass makes her class so fun; Sam is truly dedicated to getting your the most out of your workout, and has a heart of gold. The actual studio is spacious and the retail area is huge and actually has a place to sit and put on your barre socks. I love coming here, it has made my move from Philadelphia a little bit easier!

I am thankful to work right next door to this Pure Barre as it's a short walk from WeWork at 19 Clifford. My wife has been a Barre fanatic since she first turned me on to it in Los Angeles. We just moved to Detroit, so it's nice to have a familar brand. It's also a great place to get merchandise which is tailored with a little bit of local flavor and supports some of the other local clothiers. The best part of this studio, since we've moved here is Brandon C. whose customer service goes above and beyond the call of duty. Every time I've encountered him, he's been amazingly helpful, empathetic and energetic. He has wisdom beyond his years and he makes me feel like a valued client, rather than just another customer. Sadly, he's just here during his winter holiday from university. But I hope to get more visits in there before.Anyway, if you need a great place to stay fit, clear your mind, take a break, or pick up some thoughtful gifts, walk on by.

I really enjoyed going to this studio and planned to return so I'm sad to have to write this review. I have been trying to cancel my membership for over 2 weeks now. I've sent 3 emails, called the Detroit phone number several times - it doesn't work, left an upset voice message on the birmingham phone line, sent a message on instagram. I'm very disappointed that the studio has not been responsive, especially at such a difficult time for so many people. I ended up having to call my credit card company in order to stop the charge. Really really disappointed. Unfortunately this has made me not want to return post pandemic. I hope that the studio will address this immediately. I see that others are having the same issue. What a shame and what a terrible thing to do when so many are struggling.

It breaks my heart to have to write this review, but this location has left me no choice but to take my dispute public. I have tried repeatedly since February 10th 2020 to stop my auto payment. I have only attended 4 classes, and tried in vain to contact them over and over to have them cancel my membership, which I indeed never even signed up for. I signed up for a 4 class pack, and never authorized them to continually charge me. They won't respond to my emails and pleas to do the right thing. I have been going to Pure Barre for 10 years, and it's the best work out in the world, I love this company and this workout, I always will. The way Detroit has decided to conduct business is unacceptable.
