My reservation was canceled prior to my arrival (apparently by a trainee). The facility was under construction and things were either wet or just hanging on the stairwell. The tv was broken. There were no towels. ?

Will never stay here again! Pease read the reviews before going to this place. We arrive at our stay and the hotel is under complete construction (which we over looked for the time being). But it seems to have been one thing after another. We get to our room and the wall had water stains on, the light didn't work, hair in the shower, blow dryer wires hanging off the wall, no blankets in the middle of winter, grime on the head boards and stains on our pillow covers and bedding. When we asked for new bedding the new bedding we recieved had more stains on it. Would not stay there again. Only good thing was the shuttle service, the shuttle driver was very friendly and the only good thing about this place. When expedia tried contacting the hotel, they contiently had a "do not contact by phone policy" an email we sent and never heard back from them. Expedia tried to call as they did not hear back and again contiently the manager was not available.Definitely would not recommend!

Avoid. If you're on a solo trip and female, I won't book a room here. Room smelled, and it took me a while to get acquainted. Hotel is under renovation or construction. It looks like something from an apocalyptic movie. Didn't feel safe and I traveled to worse places.Rooms: Smelled. Small. Looked like a hotel for quickes.Nearby activities: NoneSafety: Didn't feel as safe as I would have likedWalkability: I don't suggest walking out of your room, especially at night.Food & drinks: The restaurant was closed but I would not have gone anyway

I've been coming here for years. The rooms are clean, not expensive at all except when there's event in town and that's usually on the weekends like every other hotel in a big city and it's in downtown Detroit. It has a restaurant attached to call the Clique restaurant and the food is absolutely delicious. It's a great place to stay if you're not focus on all the extras like room service and other things you get at bigger hotels. It's a great place to stay if you're visiting the city for business, an event or on a staycation and plan to out and about in downtown Detroit and just a good place to sleep and relax.Rooms: Clean and reasonably pricedNearby activities: Bars, restaurants, shopping, markets, the riverfront and plenty of other things.Safety: Very safeWalkability: It's basically downtownFood & drinks: Clique restaurant onsite and in walking distance of plenty of other restaurants.

At first glance online, it looks great but as soon as we pulled up, we realized it looked nothing like it did online. We didn’t care to change hotels since we are down for one night but first glance at the bathroom, hair all over the sink, and NO HOT WATER. It wasn’t even warm, just very cold. Went to turn the tv on and it barely works like it did 10 years ago. For $100 was way too overpriced and disgusting. Also to add, the toilet doesn’t flush and we didn’t plug it…

Got to this hotel and it stunk like cigarettes but we brought Lysol spray and it went away. The rooms were actually very nice and very large windows. Free breakfast was amazing too. Well done!

Location is the ONLY good thing about this hotel. We were in room 130 and it was rough. The air conditioner kept making crazy noise and sounded like it was going to blow up but without it the room was really hot. The “comfortable bed” was horrible and had either dirty or stained sheets. We ended up leaving and driving2.5 hours home in the middle of the night after a concert because the room was so bad we couldn’t stay in it. The woman gave me my deposit back and that should’ve have been that but nope. Woke up the next morning to them taking the deposit back out of bank for NO REASON and the worker was rude and unhelpful when I called to try and get it fixed. Waiting on bank to open now. Yall should just close.Rooms: TrashNoteworthy details: Dirty

I definitely wanted to leave a review for the Rivertown Inn & Suites as I feel that this place has had many negative reviews.Yes. This place is under construction and that means updates. We had 4 rooms booked and all rooms were nice and clean. The mattresses were too soft as we prefer firm mattresses. No big deal!Yes. The staff is very friendly and try their best.Yes. Breakfast consisted of waffles, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, coffee and juice.Yes. Price was great! You could stay at other hotel for about $330 USD/ night but we saved over 2/3 of the price staying here.Yes. Location was good. GPS said it'd be about 30 min walk, and because it was raining, we drove a few minutes and parked close by to Little Ceasar Arena to watch the hockey game.Yes. It has a motel style set up, where the outdoor noise from other guests partying or the cars driving by, was a bit annoying.Having read the negative reviews before coming, I was worried as I was coming with 12 other people. I also know that people love to complain and having traveled lots, I knew that it couldn't be all that bad.We had a nice Thanksgiving family getaway. Thanks for everything!Lucy D.St. Catharines, ON Canada ??

2 night stay here- hot water never worked. Toilet barley flushed. Beds were not comfortable but not the worst. Staff has been nice and the rooms are spacious. I think $100 is a lot for no hot water but it's been nice location wise. Obviously the area was a little sketchy but that's just city stuff. Rooms already smell like cigarette smoke so hoping they don't blame people who aren't smoking.... I wouldn't bring a family here but it was fine enough for my bf and I to just get out of our town for a few days.

This stay was horrible. Our room stank of cigarettes when we checked in. The hot water didn’t work. I told the staff and they moved us into another room. The second room smelled even worse (heavy smell of cleaning chemicals). The second room also had stains all over the bed. We slept on top of the bed due to the stains, but then realized that the bed was wet. When we initially got in bed, it was fine but after laying down and then getting up, we realized the bed was wet from the mattress and the wetness had seeped onto our clothing. I guess when they were trying to clean the bed of stains, they didn’t let the mattress dry properly so it was wet. At this point it was horrendous and disgusting. I brought blankets from my car to try and cover the bed because we were too tired to move our things to another room. They put us in a room that had no hot water then knowingly moved us into a room that had stains on the bed and a wet mattress. This was the most horrible and disgusting stay of my life. I hope no one ever has to experience the horror of staying at this hotel.

This motel has just about everything you need...except a blanket. You heard me right, the bed only had a sheet and no blanket. The door lock worked to keep out the random person knocking on my door at 4:30am. Besides those two issues, everything else was fine. It was what I expected for the price. It's walking distance to downtown but far enough away to not have downtown prices. I would stay here again, but probably not during the winter. Unless they correct the lack of blankets on the beds.

This may not be the Hilton but located within blocks of the Riverwalk and walking distance to the downtown entertainment district you will pay a cool $100.00 for an updated room with the standard amenities. The rooms are a touch on the small side but what set them apart is the updated features in both the main room and bathroom I literally couldn't wait to go play with the shower.Service counter :Gentleman was extremely friendly asked questions and engaged me while doing the check in process. Found him to be efficient and was curious enough to wave me deposit. Thank you Monir for making my firdt stay with you enjoyable and I look forward to staying with you again. One noticeable critique. I won't mark you down for it as I am unsure if it's affiliated with your motel. The attached restaurant in your building was locked, uninviting and stayed cash only. Part of the reason we booked was the advertisement of on site food. Not to worry guys plenty to eat within walking distance can anyone say Applebee's and IHOP??Check out the great grocery market (accepts SNAP) about 3 to 4 blocks away to fill the fridge with them midnight munchies ???Josh and RobinRooms: Updated but noticeably older building.Nearby activities: Walking distance to Riverwalk and downtown district.Walkability: Within blocks of most destinations.Food & drinks: Can not recommend attached diner.
