My experience at the Whittier location was very disappointing. I managed to find what I needed thanks to one helpful employee, but most of the staff made the visit frustrating. The cashier the black one was extremely rude and unprofessional she spent most of her time watching videos and acting irritated when customers asked for help. The man with the long beard seemed uninterested in working and avoided assisting anyone. The two younger male employees also spent most of their time talking or using their phones instead of helping customers. On rare occasions they assist, but it’s not consistent. The taller gentleman look mean but however is always helpful and polite. Assisting customers on his own and moving heavy items. He clearly works hard and deserves more recognition and fair compensation for his effort. Overall, the store itself is fine, but several employees especially the cashier need serious coaching on professionalism and customer service.

Terrible experience !!! I asked for plexy glass to be installed in my window instead he gave me glass … soon as I got home to have my handyman install it .. it split right across the middle instantly !! I called in and the younger gentleman answered and told me he could see what he could do to fix the problem . I get up to the store the older gentleman who works in the back gave me so much attitude and was very very rude . He didn’t try to resolve the problem what so ever . The customer service was HORRIBLE!!!! I paid $40.00 only to have to go to the (black owned) hardware store on east Warren . They fixed my glass for $28.00 . Don’t waste your time at this prejudice hardware store !!!!!!

Asked for plexiglass instead gave me regular glass by the time I got home it was broke called an spoke with the gentleman an he gave me nothing but attitude all because of his mistakes

Neighborhood hardware where needed most. Old school alternative to big box cartels. Service is good enough. They fixed my storm door glass. The price was fair..But when I tried to reinstall the glass, it wouldn't operate properly. The new retainer slides weren't compatible with my door. I returned to the store for a remedy, but no luck. I appreciate their effort, but I had to fix it myself. Result: Minus 1 star.
