Great library. I was reluctant to get a card for just 1 local library. They have a partnership with 50 other local libraries. Friendly staff.

It is a modern, beautiful library, perfectly sized with a spectacular view. What a place to read a book, a magazine, and become up todate with the great news and periodical selection. The most educational and relaxing place to spend a few hours for self-improvement.

Worst library EVER. First of all, it has a foul odor noticeable the minute you step into the building. It has been there since this place was built. Second of all, the librarians are very unhelpful and unaccommodating. I once checked out a book and then wanted to leave it at the front desk because I was going to take a walk. The "librarian" would not honor this simple request. The library was not busy in the least and still, she could not be bothered, I presume due to her very important work (reshelving books?). On another occasion, I brought my laptop in order to work as I had lost power at my house and work remotely. I still had not regained power the next day and again returned to the library to work but was told this time that this would not be allowed! Huh? So, I left and went to the Ann Arbor library where several people were working remotely, and I had no issues.I have returned a multitude of times to the Ann Arbor library to work. Among other things, there is no problem there to join a Zoom meeting for work and to talk, with many others doing the same. No librarians on power trips who want to use their authority to enforce stupid rules. Finally, one has to PAY to print items or to use the copier. And, you cannot use a credit card to do so. Are we still in the 19th century? The Ann Arbor Public libraries allow one to print up to 30 pages without charge even if you don't have a library card with them! Do not support this horrible Dexter library or vote for any millages to support it, unless they remove the foul order, fire the librarians and replace them with friendly people who do not blindly enforce "rules", update their antiquated system to allow credit cards (who carries cash or uses checks anymore?), and generally be a more friendly, accommodating facility as the infinitely more progressive A2 libraries are.

Great community resource

The library has an extensive selection of books--especially given the size of Dexter. When I can't find a book in the Dexter Library, the staff procures it from another library in their network. The library is pretty, the staff is friendly and helpful, and parking is easy.
