Dr. Seager appears to be very diligent in her work here. I brought my kitten in late march-early april to have her spayed, I was quoted $280 which was more expensive than the other vets I had spoken to in the area. During the spay, they notice that my kitten only has one kidney, which leads them to believe that there is no second ovary. They continue searching for it but find nothing. They decided to test her kidney function as well. The whole cost ended up being $560. Granted I wasn’t happy, but I was happy that my kitten was okay. 3 months go by and my kitten goes into heat 3 times in 5 weeks, since then she’s gone in every 4. The poor girl sounds like she’s in agonizing pain. They advised me to go get an ultrasound done on her which is $650. The ultrasound found the ovary super quickly. Eastside animal hospital calls me the following day that they have quoted $1200 for the removal of her second ovary. But, they expect it to be $900 and are giving me a 10% discount. I am completely shocked that removing my cats ovaries is going to cost me $2,000+.Any other animal clinic i’ve spoken to and filled in on the situation has quoted me for around $500 to have an initial visit, full blood work (including kidneys) and abdominal exploratory surgery to find the second ovary that was found by the ultrasound. I’m stunned by this information, and will likely never return given that a vet who had no part in missing the second ovary during the initial spay, is willing to to charge me half of what Eastside is going to charge me for the surgery.Edit: I’ve spent $2,000 since January 2nd for the required vaccines, spay job, renal profiles and check ups post spay. Other vets have quoted me for less than $400 for everything listed here in the area.

Other vet we've went to didn't have an opening so we came to this one, had to put my daughters pet down, nothing more, not shots, didn't need an exam, nothing... just euthanasia.Ridiculously charged for a brief exam, when there wasn't one and over $100 to put down a rat..So total was $163... FOR A RAT.. they also don't give you a clay paw print like East Lansing Vet Clinic and then instead of a box, they wrapped the rat up in a dog pee pad, handed her back and sent me on my way.Don't recommend. Plus it's a very small vet. 1 maybe 2 exam rooms. No real waiting room (2-3 chairs). Park in the back of the building and no walk path or direction on which side of building to walk to so I walked around the whole building to the door, only to be told to go to another BACK door.

Had a horrible experience with them. constantly discussed price of appointments for my cat many times before going in and both times they lied. I was quoted $250 for cats spay the day before I went in when they called to confirm them when I when in they charged me $375 and said inflation but that's a blatant lie that they just want to take the money of college student because inflation doesn't change the cost over night. tried to force me to get a bunch of un need procedure on my cat just to squeeze more money out of me. definitely recommend any other place then this on. not to mention when I dropped my cat off for the spay they tried to charge me $1500 for a spay. I had to argue with them for hours explaining I didn't what these others procedure that they were adding on without even asking me if I wanted that for my cat. honestly just avoid this place, no care for animal.

The staff and doctor took good care of my dwarf rabbit that I brought in for neutering. They took the extra time to examine him and explain thoroughly ahead of time and got him in first thing the next morning. You can ask for a basic price quote and worst-case scenario quote. My bunny Binky can out of it fine, the staff called and emailed twice afterwards to check up on it, and he's healed well. I do recommend them! Ty!

Dr. Seager and the staff are all very excellent at what they do. You can tell Dr. Seager cares very deeply for animals. She intends to give them the same level of care that a human should expect to receive from their doctor. Because of that, some people mistake her thoroughness in doing lots of tests, etc. for greed - but I contend that her thoroughness is instead a result of her genuine desire to figure out how to best help animals. We have 5 cats, which isn’t cheap. Given we don’t make a lot of money between us, about 10% of our annual income goes into cat care alone. So it’s always a difficult pill to swallow to hear about the next big bill for one of our kitties. I get it - it’s so stressful, especially when you don’t make a lot of income. But don’t mistake the bills as unnecessary or frivolous.Dr. Seaver’s thoroughness saved the lives of at least 2 of our cats who were given cheaper treatment elsewhere. For our other cats, the treatment plans Dr. Seager recommends always surpassed what the previous vets we went to recommended. Our cats are as healthy now as they’ve ever been.Lastly, I never feel bamboozled out of anything. Dr. Seager and Joshua always explain in layman’s terms what they’re thinking, what the costs are, etc. Bills are tough, but if I’m gonna pay bills I better not be getting surprise charges. Never have to worry about that here!

When I first adopted my dog, Bear, and established him as a patient, Dr Seager came out and spoke with me in great detail about canine health and wellbeing. In doing this, several personalized recommendations were made for him. Dr. Seager emphasizes a holistic approach to animal well-being by caring for every part of them. She made sure I was aware of other resources, like trainers, located in the area. This practice values a preventative approach to medicine, which I appreciate. For example, she emphasizes steps to maintain proper dental health in order to prevent issues down the road. She also recommended Purina Calming Care (a probiotic supplement) as a simple, over-the-counter solution for my dog's anxiousness. This has helped him a lot. As far as prescriptions go, they have their own online store as well as an in house pharmacy. Prices are competitive with other retailers, like Chewy. They also will fill prescriptions for outside pharmacies if requested.Dr. Seager and her staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Anytime I’ve had a question, each staff member I’ve spoke to has been able to provide helpful information. Staff have always discussed everything that is going to be be done prior to each appointment. As a result of her and her staff’s knowledge, I feel that I have been able to better care for my dog. This practice definitely takes an individual approach to each pet and their needs. I highly recommend this practice if you’re looking for a Vet in the East Lansing/Okemos area.

Recently had gotten a young cat and had brought her to this vet numerous times with no issue. A potential health concern came up, so I called to schedule an appointment like usual. I left a voicemail with my name, my pets name, and my number (all of which were already in their records). To this day, over a month later, I have not received a call back. Office staff are all incredible, but I felt as though I was being talked down to every time Dr. Seager and I had an interaction. Will not return or recommend.

Excellent customer service. The knowledge, sincerity and considerate care they give to each client's beloved pets are just a few of their outstanding company services/qualities. They took excellent care of my cat with cancer walking me through each step. I am grateful for their excellence and and approach. I highly recommend Eastside Animal Hospital!

I've had a wonderful experience bringing my cat to Dr. Seager. Her and her entire staff are very friendly, caring, and responsive. When I inherited my cat, Elsa, I soon found that she had multiple health issues that needed to be addressed. I brought her to a different veterinary office in the area before I knew about Eastside animal hospital and had a bad experience- the vet there gave me a powder medicine and told me I would need to see a specialist about anything else. However, when I brought Elsa to see Dr. Seager it was a completely different story; she actually took the time to figure out the underlying causes of Elsa's health issues and what needed to be addressed and assisted me in finding every solution possible for her. I felt so much better after bringing Elsa to Dr. Seager because I knew she was getting the best care. Dr. Seager and the entire staff are always super helpful with any questions I've had and seemed genuinely concerned for Elsa's well-being. She even always helped me to find the most affordable solutions. Elsa has now passed, and I received a very thoughtful sympathy card in her honor from the office. I don't know what I would have done without Dr. Seager and the entire staff of Eastside animal hospital, I'm so happy I had this veterinary clinic to bring her to!
