Flat Black & Circular is a very cool store with an excellent, massive, and well-organized selection of vinyl, CDs, DVDs, and tapes across all types of genres. It features a large punk and hardcore/metal section, a very good old blues section, and a massive CD selection, including a quite pleasant surprise jazz selection noted as better than some major city stores. Customers find fair prices and rare stuff, often picking up records they are very surprised and happy to find. The shop is located on a second level with a nice view. The knowledgeable, courteous, welcoming, and talkative staff hosts the store with ever-present music of varied tastes and tempo, though one reviewer notes the background music can be extreme. The experience is fantastic, leading many to visit from out of town and recommend it highly. The business is considered a vital local place, with some community concern about potential future trouble from city development impacting its parking lot. It is described as probably the most interesting place in its city and an amazing place to return to.
Been coming here regularly since 1997. My favorite local store of any stripe

Always a great experience shopping for vinyl at Flat Black and Circular. The used records are priced fair and in good condition. Like ALL record stores the selection of used vinyl is less than years ago but that's just supply and demand. They also have a great selection of new vinyl LPs and audiophile LPs.

Nice place right across the street from MSU. Went there on Record Store Day on Saturday, and they had the Pink Floyd special release from LA in 1975 that I was looking for.
