Great experience at Gillette's!! My mom and I worked with our salesperson Jacob and the general manager, Richie. Before purchase, we had the chance to go through the RV and pointed out any small defects we found, which are pretty much a given since they are never manufactured to perfection. Gillette's service crew was more than willing to make the fixes we noted, just wanting us to be happy with the product. It's rare to find a dealership that doesn't have some covert pricing or sales tactics that make your skin crawl. Happily didn't find that here, and instead, came across some very candid and helpful people who just wanted us to get the product and deal that worked best for us.Thank you Gillette's for the clear communication and smooth follow-through on such an important purchase like this one!!

We bought a used camper back in March of 2023. In November we went to get it resealed and winterized and found out that there was extensive water damage to the trailer. These issues were never disclosed when we purchased the camper. It was presented as in good working order. We have tried multiple times and ways to contacts the general manager with no response. This is the most disappointing thing for our family, that we spent significant money on a trailer that is unusable. With the water damage I’m sure there is mold involved as well which also went undisclosed. Please avoid buying or from patronizing this business if you can. We understand that issues happen but the unprofessional lack of response is not acceptable.

Stopped in today with a couple of questions and was so happy to learn that there is a new general manager! Huge improvement, Richie & Todd have earned back my business. Highly recommend them. If you are just curious about a rig and thought about dropping in to take a peek inside- well, you won’t feel pressured or intimidated at all.Very happy to have a great dealer again, 5 stars for sure

We recently moved to the area and have greatly appreciated the service department. We have needed both mechanical and maintenance work done on our E-Pro Trailer. The Service Department Team has been great to work with. We’ve be very pleased with the communication and quality of work.

BUYER BEWARE!!If you do not want after the sale service, or any help with issues then go ahead and buy here. If you want after the sale service or any help there after DON'T BUY HERE!! We bought a 2020 Jayco Fifth wheel here and needed warranty work completed, no calls or emails back after multiple attempts for warranty work. Fast forward to September 4th of this year when our camper was a total loss after a collision and we needed help with our gap insurance and I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. So I drove over an hour to speak with someone to get the help I needed. Now our gap claim is probably not going to get paid because they are not prorating a a refund for an extended service plan that we needed canceled per the gap insurance requirements. I hope this review helps someone not make the same mistake we did...

My husband and I bought a little 2016 R-Pod trailer from Gillette RV in 2017. We never had a problem with that trailer and kept it in great shape ! after using it for a few years, we decided to sell our very LOVED R-Pod and upgrade into something larger to accommodate our elderly parents for some camping. Upon arrival we were greeted by a salesman named Brian Monaghan-
[email protected] and asked to join him in his desk area. as we approached his desk, my husband looked down, cleared his throat. Looking up at Brian then back down at Brian's phone as Brian quickly shut down the PORN VIDEO he was watching. Luckily, I didn't have my glasses on. Brian quickly asked us what type of camper we were looking for, and we explained to him that we have been researching many trailers, and wanted to look at a few freedom expresses .we've looked at a few and discuss some prices my husband and I left for the day ,and said we would get back with Brian with our final decision. We actually were given a slightly better price at a RV place in Gaylord, but we thought we should keep our sales locally that way, it can be serviced locally. HUGE MISTAKE! We bought the camper at the end of October, and it sat in our pole barn covered until May when we went on our maiden voyage. Everything seemed fine. it towed like a breeze! However, after the first shower things started leaking left and right. my husband spent the weekend fixing leaks in the trailer. (We keep our trailer for three months in Munising) when we returned the following week it had rained pretty hard we open our camper and go into the bedroom where our brand new $600 mattress is soaking wet. The floor has about an inch of water STANDING ! the front windshield significantly leaked and destroyed the wood under the bed. My husband and I were horrified. This is a brand new trailer. We poured our savings into this trailer and we feel like we received a lemon. We tried to call Gillette and our previous salesman. Brian we waited a week and never got a return phone call. We actually had to use my daughters phone to call and speak to our salesman who actually answered the phone in two rings .(this was after leaving him multiple messages.) needless to say my husband was a little upset with the whole process, and decided to NOT BE IGNORED anymore ,and go in and talk to the general manager Stuart
[email protected] after we drove 6 1/2 hours back down from Munising. We absolutely thought that the general manager would be sympathetic to us maybe, "I'm so sorry about all the problems you've had, and maybe give us a new mattress since ours was destroyed ,knowing that he sold us an RV that is a lemon. Stuart Brabant agreed to fix our windshield within a timely manner so our whole summer wasn't ruined .( even though it's Gillette RV that needs to fix the windshield) we finally got to take our camper back to Munising only to spend the summer fixing non-stop leaks, furnace disconnections ,mold issues because of the leak , toilet leaking, shower leaking, weak shower floor, destroyed $600 Denver camper mattress, bed frame destroyed and moldy, outdoor kitchen sink leaking into the bathroom floor. The inside of the camper it's self looks like it was put together by a toddler. My husband and I are not rich people! We had to save a lot of money to put down on this trailer that we thought we would have for the rest of our lives. But once Gillette RV makes that SALE, YOU,RE FORGOTTEN! not only are you forgotten but you are now a BURDEN! the last time my husband and I were inside the show room the general manager heard us chatting and abruptly shut his door, and refuse to speak to us. we are not asking for anything that is unfair. We just want some things fixed and a new mattress. However, when we called back to set up yet another appointment to fix the things that are wrong, we were met with resistance and the man who answered the phone at service actually asked my husband why he was coming back to them ! We didn't think that was too much to ask f

Bought a used 2017 Crusader 5th wheel in April. Still have not received a title for it. Now some 3 mnths later. !!! All I have gotten is excusses and lies. Was told over 2 weeks ago I would have it in the mail last week. Never got it. My bank is calling me and sending me letters asking for the title. We live in Ohio. Was told last Friday I would have the title today. More excusses. So I asked if I could come pick it up at their location. 1 hr and 15 minutes, from the campground where it is permanently parked. No, they can't do that.....but they can deliver a camper anywhere in the United States. !!! I am getting no answers as to why I have not received a title. I am beyond frustrated !!! My sales guy also told me he spent over and hour cleaning the camper prior to us picking it up. I found this mess behind the couch/bed in the 1/2 bunk room. I guess the salesman overlooked moving it to do a thorough cleaning. This consisted of feminine products, underwear , a 1/2 full bottle of orange juice, an opened box of cookies, candy, pink pills. !!!! I would not suggest buying anything from Gillette Rv. One very unhappy customer.

Very disappointed that the service and parts department is not open on the weekends. Would prefer to support local businesses but impossible when they do not offer weekend hours. Salesman was not interested in helping us since we were not shopping for an RV.

Ownership did finally respond to this review but it was almost 4 months after I was there. Look below and see the 1-star ratings. Go to TerryTown in Grand Rapids instead, Don't buy here, they never give a good deal, they will stay fat and happy and you will pay $15k-$20k more, more than just about anywhere else. I tried to buy a $130,000 fifth wheel but when I setup an appointment to come and see their inventory I found out that they lied about what units were available, instead of 6 units to look at they only had 2 and we drove 1.5 hours to get there. I had been texting with our salesman (Ryan) for weeks after our visit trying to find out if a deal could be done, in the end he told me THEY COULD NOT take in a trade and give a good deal, REALLY??? The salesman texted exactly that to me. If you are doing a "trade-in", they will offer THE LEAST AMOUNT for it, ALL OTHER DEALERS in Southern MI (TerryTown, General RV, Camping World, All Seasons, Lakeshore RV, Bishs) ALL HAD BETTER OFFERS than these guys. But if you want to pay CONSIDERABLY more and don't have a trade in, THEN THESE ARE YOUR GUYS !!!! I gave them a 1 rating because zero was not a choice. And FYI, my credit score was 800 plus and my yearly income around $200k a year so I was a well qualified buyer. I bought mine at Terrytown in Grand Rapids they easily met my deal requirements and offer the best service capability. And I see at least 1 more 1-star buying experience (1-month ago) where instead of trying to make a deal for the 5th wheel buyer they told him they would give them their deposit back.

Thank you for helping us purchase our new Jayco. We found the trailer displayed at at RV show in Lansing MI; we fell in love with the Jayco Jay Flight SLX 195rb.Both Dan and Ryan working at the show were very friendly, helpful and amazing. We were able to put a down payment there, and pick up our new trailer about 2 weeks later. Our showroom rep at the dealer was Ryan K. He met us at the door and was very friendly, a bit disorganized perhaps as he had us in the financial office to sign before we did our walk-through inspection. I had also specifically asked him on the phone what size trailer ball we needed and he told me 2 5/16, which I ordered before going to pick it up. To later be told it was a 2 inch ball by Jared. Ryan denied telling me the wrong size at first. As a result we had to purchase a 2in ball from them. Would have been appreciated if Ryan had offered to cover the cost as the original purchase was made based on what he told us. The trailer had been washed and the vent cover we asked to be added was installed. They did have to change out the water heater cover as it was bent which they did at no charge. The inside was clean, yet there was some drops of the winterization fluid left in the tub and sink.Jared in the prep area was very nice and helped us get hooked up and underway. Only question we will be calling about is whether or not we were supposed to get a wheel to go under the hitch along with the flat plate. Hoping if the wheel was forgotten it can be shipped to us, as we live 2 hours from the dealer.Mike W in the finance department was great. Explained available options and got everything squared away for financing. Thank you everyone for assisting us.

Huge mistake buying a new RV from Gillettes, sales went well but when it came to the service..oh boy, it's like the owners, managers and sales reps all brought their children to work, put them in a room called it the service department, that's how inexperienced, unknowledgable and flat out lazy these guys are, 9 months! Thats How long it took them to fix 77 bucklights, one leaky window seal, a huge gaping hole directly underneath the goose neck drain of my bathtub that leaks right into the insulation and wood frame, A gaping hole in the wall where the slide out was cut cut out during manufacturing it looks like someone lost control of the jigsaw that they were using, a leaking propane tank pigtail connector, broken refrigerator door latch And some sort of fluid oozing out of every spot where there was a nail in the interior trim. 9 Months they had my RV and the only thing they fixed was the leaking seal on the window, 3 of the 7 Puck lights, refrigerator door handle & the pigtail, They ran the clock out on my warranty With their procrastination and constant lies about waiting on Repair authorizations That Jacobs themselves said they never Filed or were just not even requiredOr part orders that Jacob confirmed were never placed. This was 2 years ago now, fast forward to just last couple weeks and they finally sent me finally sent me the rest of the Puck lights although I received used Puck lights and Jaco confirms that they didn't order them from them and they'd never send used pocket to anyone so like to anyone so whatever man I would just do your clear of this place altogether it's a headache nothing but a headache
