Just an incredible amount of material to dig through ! Left with a few finds but would have needed a full day to do this place justice.

Very good store for looking for vinyl or collectibles I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because as they sell a lot of vinyl I figured he might be able to suggest a good record player not only could he not , he just hung up on me instead of saying no sorry I can't! I mean who does that how rude just say no sorry , is there anything else I can help you with? I would've replied no thanks , thank you for your time. That is how phone interactions are supposed to go!

The place is packed full of music. Cool place to visit, but very cramped and hard to find stuff you're looking for. The employees are happy to assist.

this was one of my favorite stores in Eastpointe, I've spent a few bucks in there over the years. went in there the other day. the guy that runs the place is always pretty friendly, but on this day i asked him a question and he acted like i was asking him to give me a kidney. surprisingly rude. well, that's it, won't be going back in there again. its a shame.

I bought most of my vinyl from here, circa 1995-2000, while I was in highschool. My friends & I would drive over 200mi round-trip on weekends just to go to Melodies - Memories ("M&M's" is what we called it). They always had the most obscure or hard-to-find stuff in any format, and the room stacked floor-to-ceiling with 8" 45rpm records was incredible.House DJ Jeff Woodward was often there working, and I even still have his CD ("The Detroit Housing Commission"); along with the vinyl I've been hauling around for almost 30 years. And it looks like they haven't changed much at all since way back then; which is good, because this record store is a big part of Detroit's musical history, and is worth a visit just to see.... and to discover more great music.

A great local shop that has a wide assortment of vinyl. Dan the owner was friendly and offered help to show me where the different genres of vinyl located in the shop. Bring money and have lots of time to dig because you’ll be sure to find what your looking for. Prices are fair. Just fyi, No public restrooms.

Melodies & Memories has been here almost as long as I've been alive. My father used to spend hours picking through vinyl, tapes, and cds here. It was great to return home after all these years and find it still in business. This is a *massive* music store, with constantly rotating stock. There's enough inventory that's it's not even all all out at once despite the size of the space. There's also a lot of really great memorabilia from a variety of different era and subcultures on rotating display, some for sale, some not. The prices here are also very reasonable.
