I've always used Anderson Music for my music and instrument needs. I sent my Eb trumpet in for some routine work and cleaning plus a repair. They really did such a good job on the repair and the cleaning. For the value and the service you probably won't find this level of care at the bigger franchised stores like Marshall's Music or A&G Central Music. Some of you may use them and like them. But I find the attention to detail and the process to better for me always in the long run at Anderson Music. If you haven't used Anderson before, come and see them. They have two locations, one in Troy and one in Farmington I think.

Well ....the staff....at the Farmington Hills location .....are not very nice....kinda rude actually....dont really talk to you unless they yell at you to wear a mask. But I've had an instrument there for cleaning....its been 3 weeks and not one person has called me about when this clarinet will be done or if it's done at all....I know they send it out...but 3 weeks and no call or update?

This morning I went to the store to ask for some information about buying or renting a new instrument for my daughter, unfortunately I found the staff very unprofessional and rude. They also opened 10 minutes late and I had to wait outside in the cold, because I arrived at 11:05 and the store was still closed although on google it says that the store opens from 11 to 6. I would not recommend.

Be aware of the quality of instrument you "rent to purchase" at Anderson Music. We spent $35 a month to "rent to own" an instrument we were told was of high quality. We moved to another town and took the flute to an instrument shop for a check up prior to the school year starting. We were told the instrument wasn't worth $350 brand new and that they refuse to sell the brand because it is a knock off of poor quality. We paid $840 over two years to Anderson Music to buy a used $300 flute and a year later requires $150 in repairs that are not due to misuse or abuse. I'm not mad at them explicitly, we should've done our homework, and as they say.... buyer beware.....

Do not use for school instrument rental!! Took 4 weeks for them to tighten a screw on the instrument because they have to send it to the Troy location 30 minutes away. Was never given a payment book which was specifically stated in the contract so that we would know how much we owed and for how long. Was quoted one price to pay off instrument but they couldn't process it because they couldn't give me a receipt (?huh?). So I had to call the Troy office to pay the instrument off and they gave me a different amount that I owed to pay off the instrument. Was told the tech may or may not be in that week. You don't know? Not really sure what this location does because I'm always referred to the Troy store to do anything.

Completely empty store, I come with the two kids I babysit and all three of us can’t come in the store because “only two people at a time.” So what do you want me to do? Leave a kid in the car or send a kid in by themselves? There was NOBODY else in the store. This DID NOT keep anybody safe from corona you just added extra hoops for people taking care of kids. Shame on you. Also moments later a delivery guy walked in so clearly this rule only applies to the people the man at the desk wants it to.

I visited this store for the first time yesterday looking for a trumpet teacher. The young lady behind the desk shocked me with her rude and dismissive manner. I must say this individual should not be employed in any field where she interacts with customers. As a result of this negative experience with this employee, I walked out, never to return to Anderson Music. I will do my business with a music store where the employees treat their customers with a modicum of respect. This is why Anderson Music got only one star which was all they earned on June 6, 2019.

Great to see Anderson Music in Farmington Hills Michigan. I have rented and purchased instruments from them for my boys.

Anderson Music used to have a store in Dearborn which became my first stop when ever I needed anything along the lines of music. It wasn't fancy, and didn't have the selection that a place like Guitar Center has but it stood heads and shoulders above their competitors in terms of service, friendly staff and working with you on prices. So needless to say I was very disappointed when they closed the store in Dearborn and since we are still purchasing an instrument through them we now have to go to their Farmington store. This branch of Anderson Music I'm happy to report that it is a reflection of the Dearborn store still having a knowledgeable and friendly staff but in a nicer building. Although I still wish the Dearborn store was open it makes the trip from Dearborn to Farmington easier to do know that I am going to get good service with a friendly staff.
