There's a lot of miscommunication, and there's no consistency amongst the clerks. I returned my rental early and got nothing back, but if you extend your reservation and bring it back early... they prorate the charges, lol.

I placed the order for a rental car on the Avis online portal after receiving an email about a promotion. We went to pick up the car the following day as planned, and they didn’t have any cars at all. We did not receive a phone call or any communication that they would be out of cars. On top of that, they could not issue a refund in the store so we had to call into their call center and try to explain the situation to receive a refund. I feel they should at least be letting you know if your reservation isn’t going to be fulfilled or provide alternative arrangements at a close store.

Attempted to rent a car at the Detroit airport. When i arrived at midnight on a Tuesday there was a 3 hour wait for rentals. Took an uber to the hotel and went to the Farmington Avis the next morning. walked in and out with a car in 5 minutes at Farmington. There must be a better way to process people more quickly in this day and age. There was only 10 groups in front of me and 3 people serving ... why should it take so long ?

Cars are NOT cleaned at all! Yuck! Cars reserved are rarely available and they don't upgrade...just give you something else in the line you ordered, which is usually not as nice. Sorry...used to really like this place.
