My new resue GSD did not like the first vet I found (he growled and had to be muzzled when I took him there). The 2nd Vet I took him to was older, and is very respected in Detroit, but he has horrible wait times, and does not really keep good records. My dog loved him and behaved PERFECTLY, but then my dog became sick, and the 4+ hour wait time each visit, plus the low/no real record keeping made it hard for me to keep up with his "treatments", and time wise, I just could NOT continue to wait for HOURS for no diagnosis. One of my neighbors recommended West Woodward, and I was able to get an appt within a week or so, and although Dr. John could not get records from my previous vet (nor could I), he made some recommendations and tried some treatments, and then figured out that my dog probably had EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insuffiency), a rare condition. The test was expensive, but not as expensive as some of the other test/guesses from the previous vet, and EPI is what my dog has. The treatment is simple, my dog LOVES the entire staff, and I truly appreciate the way the staff treats me and my dog. They are sensitive to pricing, and try to get me more economical pricing, and they love my dog. They are near my home, but even if I had to drive for an hour each way, I would continue to take my dog there. I really appreciate the staff, and the Doctors at West Woodward and will recommend them to EVERYONE I meet.

West Woodward is one of the best clinics you can take your animal to. Plain and simple.I pup was having some pain and took him into West Woodward and found out he needed to have surgery. Doctor John and his staff went above and beyond to make sure that everything went smooth, including his recovery. I cannot be more grateful for the work that they do and would absolutely recommend them to everyone. Also, enjoy the picture of Peanut Butter while still in his recovery donut, but trying to stay festive!

2 years ago I had my cat there for oral surgery and when he was returned to me he was partially paralyzed! He had no use of his hind legs and was army crawling it. They really gave me no explanation of why this happened. I had to take an already traumatized cat back to the vet 5 more times for Lazer treatment. Plus after some research, realized their pricing is right up there with emergency vets. Another issue is they rarely answer the phone. Took 6 calls to them before they answered.

Been going here for many, many years with many different animals and have always felt super taken care of. I appreciate this clinic more than I have words for. 2 of my pups are special needs and Dr. Miskena has always been nothing but helpful always.

I have been taking my cat here for a few years now and Dr. Miskena and team are amazing! My cat has had various heath issues and Dr. Miskena always goes above and beyond to figure out what is going on , how to help her get better, and make her feel comfortable and okay. Grateful to have a vet and vet team who care about their patients and who do right by my cat. Thank you!!

I had a very bad experience here recently and will never be going back. My dog ate rat poison and the vet told me to bring her in. I got there 10 minutes after close and this really irritated the vet assistant. He was very aggressive in handling my dog and tried to take her away from me when treating her (just simple eye drops). I told the vet assistant I wanted to be present for this, as he was already aggressive with my dog. He rudely refused and tired to take her in the back without me. I left with my dog, crying because she hadn’t been treated and went to Dr. Francis vet hospital instead.Shout out to the receptionist tho, she was very kind and caring. But the vet assistant was RUDE and AGGRESSIVE. If you don’t care about treating a sick animal, even after closing time, please don’t work at a vet.

Me as well as my extended family will not take our pets anywhere else, no matter the distance. John saved my animals life and helped prepare for any future issues with his leg. I couldn’t be more grateful, if I could give 10 stars, I would.
