From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels welcoming, peaceful, and educational. The institute has an impressive variety of artwork and exhibits, with something interesting for people of all ages and different artistic interests.

Overall, I had a great experience at the Flint Institute of Arts. Whether you’re going with family, friends, on a date, or just looking for something different to do, I would definitely recommend checking it out. It’s a great place to slow down, appreciate some beautiful artwork, and learn something new along the way. I’m looking forward to visiting again!”

“Attended my first Friday Patio event on 7/10. Great music for the ears, while taking in some visually exceptional artwork!! Great talent of Eric Jones and Anna Furnaris (very inspirational too), along with many others. Looking forward to the next event. Thank you to all the volunteers too.”

“Very nice, newer art gallery in Flint. This gallery is focused more on African American history and art and other ethnic minorities, displaying some powerful and eclectic pieces, including some very well known artwork by some of the country's most well known artists, plus lesser known or up and coming artists. They run a new art installation every several weeks and have a video display, too, featuring a short film or a video art piece. As with other galleries in the area, they are now part of the city's monthly art walk and they have a reception and usually jazz music or some other instrumental music during the festivities. I've been to this gallery several times and signed up for the E newsletter, too. It's one of the nicer, more intriguing galleries around and it's never the same dull art twice. They have everything, including paintings, multi media, videos, clay, installation art, and more. I try to make sure my family drops by at least once every month or two.”

“Went for the art walk for the Danielle Muzin exhibit and it was wonderful. They really understand how to put together a gallery that complements the entire works of all artists while still highlighting each individual piece.The art walk was beautiful and this was one of the high points of it.
