Hours: Genesee Career Institute (GCI) is a place where students receive helpful support and care from staff and teachers. It offers programs that can help high school students work on hands-on skills for their future careers. Many students find the staff helpful and friendly, and some have even used GCI to get out of classes they don’t like. The programs can make a difference; for example, one student completed a computer hardware program and received academic help, including math tutoring. Past students have benefited greatly, with one using their training to advance in the Coast Guard and others preparing for careers in small engine repair, welding, or motorcycle repair. The instructors are professional, attentive, and genuinely care about students’ success. Some students also appreciate the personal attention, such as receiving a great haircut from the staff. Overall, GCI is a supportive place that helps students develop skills and confidence for their future.
