SCUMBAG RIP OFF MECHANICS!
Trying to take advantage of a young girl who doesn’t know better!
$1850 for 2 struts, 1 wheel bearing and some lousy ass sway bar links! $450 in parts they marked up to over $1200‼️‼️‼️
No wonder why you guys are always dead as hell and can hardly keep your doors open!

Came into Midas on a tow truck , needed my tire fixed with new studs. They took my keys but haven’t told me any updates in the past 3 hours on when the job will be done or if they can fix it. Been sitting in the office building since 11am, zero communication. Upset and will more than likely NOT come back. P.s. I am the owner of my ford escape. My significant other just signed his name as for I feel it’s a man’s job to help with automobile problems. We see how Midas speaks to women. Like I said ZERO customer service. Don’t even know who owns the vehicle.

Originally I was going to leave a 5 star, as the staff had been wonderful up until the point that Blake from Grand Blanc started chiming in. I brought my vehicle in due to my abs/traction control/brake dash lights all coming on as I was driving home to Flint from Saginaw. When bringing the vehicle in I asked for a full inspection, as it is under warranty and I desired to fix as many issues as possible with the one trip. The agreed upon services were completed and I picked up my vehicle very happy with my experience. Upon driving it out of the parking lot, I noticed my traction control light still on. It was late in the evening, therefore I opted to drive it to work and back the next day. The light remained on, therefore I gave Midas a call back and explained the situation. This is where Blake comes into the picture. He stated he was filling in from the Grand Blanc store and that I could bring it in and they would take a look. I did just that. I then receive a phone call and quote from Blake that states the issue is back wheel bearings. Blake stated it did not come up on the original inspect just a couple days prior. He also stated that my dash lights were never on to begin with, because he has a picture that was taken with no dash lights on at all. We went back and forth on this and he stuck to his guns and displayed his first bout of unprofessionalism. He then called around noon and stated all was submitted and accepted by the warranty company and they were hoping to have the vehicle complete by end of business that day. An hour before the store closes, Blake calls again with what he opened the phone call with as bad news. He now is stating that he read the quote wrong from the warranty company and they are not paying what the shop is asking, so I will now have to pay the difference plus the $100 deductible again. He says he had been going back and forth with the company for several hours. Obviously I became irate because I was literally told all was well 5 hours prior. When expressing my concern and extreme dissatisfaction with Blake, he reverted back to the dash light picture and washed his hands of everything stating it was not on them and if they did the work, the shop would not make any money. I did speak out of line and said some words that should not have been said, out of anger. Blake chose to throw my keys at me across the counter and walked away. Very unprofessional and deceitful. This Midas had my 5 star rating until BLAKE FROM GRAND BLANC does not know how to be professional or have any customer service skills whatsoever. BBB complaint filed.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!
My simple AC issue was misdiagnosed TWICE and I was told I needed to spend $1100 on the fix. I took my car to Flushing Service Center down the road where it was fixed by just recharging it like Midas said it was and that it didn’t need the $1100 part.
I called Midas to ask for a refund since they didn’t fix the issue with the recharge and I was told that I wouldn’t be getting a refund because they provided the service that I requested. So either Midas has subpar equipment compared to a local shop or their mechanics don’t know what they’re doing.
I also called the district manager (Midas provides his number to call or text him with any feedback) and he also ignored both of my calls and also doesn’t seem to care.
Moral of the story, DON’T TRUST THE MIDAS TOUCH. Go to Flushing Service Center right down the road. They do good work.

I set up an appointment online just before 3 for 5 for an alignment. Midas confirmed the appointment at 3:09 pm. When I arrive he proceeds to tell me that it’s too late in the day to perform an alignment. He tells me that it takes an HOUR just to do the shakedown. To those that don’t know, it takes about 10 minutes to check the front end to do the alignment, at least that’s what we would do when I worked at this Midas, (along with 2 other Midas’). Nobody called me to tell me that it’s too late so I had to waste time and drive all the way down there only to get turned back around. People are getting lazy.

Worked with Ryan to get my Nissan Altima serviced. Set an appointment online but when I came in for service Ryan let me know the Wheels system is down for fleet vehicles. No big deal, he was able to reschedule my appointment for the very next day. I was able to drop my car off and they text updated me with a report of what was being inspected. 10/10 will be using them for every maintenance check. Thanks guys!!

I like to think I speak for a vast majority of people when I say we do our own work to avoid dumping money at an automotive shop for things we either don't need or can fix for a fraction of the price.
Now granted, I didn't pay anything as I was told they'd look at my car for no charge and $40 for any future inspections. I replaced my sway-bar links, inner and outer tie rods and both control arms. I didn't go to Midas to learn, I have YouTube for that. I went there because Belle Tire recommended I try them to make sure my car is safe to drive.
Anyways, I got a notification about the inspection of my car. Only to find a snarky comment from one of the mechanics. Attached is a photo of the comment.
It begs the question. Is the industry this desperate for mechanics? Provided I gotten the answers I was looking for with basic human respect towards someone new to doing their own work, Midas would have gotten a loyal customer. I digress, I'll stick to YouTube and just hope I did everything correctly until I can find a new mechanic.
Edit: Nearly forgot. The guy behind the counter is the only reason I'm going above a one star rating. He was understanding and apologetic. I work retail and told him I understand when customers get under your skin. His response was "But still, that was uncalled for and unnecessary". I don't remember his name, but this was on 04/29/24 at 2 PM in case anyone wants to give him kudos for being professional and a good face for Midas as soon as you walk in. He even went to the back to get some sugar for the coffee because a customer asked for it.
