Use to come here all the time since I got my dog, spent over 2 hours waiting for 1 shot. Saw multiple people come after I had checked in and they were seen before me.

I am still haunted by the short time I spent working at this place. It has been a long time, so I'm hoping things have changed SIGNIFICANTLY. However, this was in 2004 and the circumstances that I worked in were terrible. One doctor was 98 years old and had no business still working there, and I was asked not to let anyone know he was still working as he was obviously suffering from some form of dementia but was still actively seeing clients. He was rude and cruel to me, actively calling me stupid in front of clients. Additionally, I swear I saw him pee in one of the sinks when he thought nobody was looking. Dr. Babich was his name. If you have any issues reading about bad treatment of animals you should stop reading here. There were several instances where the animals were not given adequate care. People would drop off their dying animals, and the staff's solution was to put them in cages until they passed alone and cold. Now, Dr. Ehrman (still there) was slightly better, but I will never forget one day I assisted with the euthanasia of a dog and as I was petting the dog's head and it was drifting off, the doctor as well as the other assistant were laughing openly at me for showing kindness. They would stab cats quickly in the lung with long needles to euthanize them and then haphazardly throw them in the oven to be cremated. Speaking of which, they offered cremation services for pet owners who wanted their pet's remains. But they didn't separate out the remains of any other pet that they cremated, so whatever you got from the oven could have been any animal. I'm sorry to sound so crass but this was an absolutely awful place to work. They had "runs" where people would drop their dogs off when they needed to leave for a long period of time and couldn't take them. Some of the dogs, kept in a small room with a narrow outdoor run, would be there for months and months. Please think twice before you take your pet here. I'm sorry it took me so long to leave a review.

I started taking my Manx to see Dr Schwarts about 2 years ago. At first the little things bothered me (incorrect birthdate for him and his breed), not much to complain about in the beginning..but the worst was yet to come. Last week we took him in because he was limping. Schwarts gave him a small checkup and a steroid shot and said come back tomorrow for xrays and tests..which would be a Friday. We bring him in and are told we will be called when he's ready for pick up. Hours go by and nobody calls. My fiancee calls to see if he was ready. Schwarts charges us $400, didn't show the xrays and prescribes my cat a steroid pill a nd amoxicillin, just saying he has nerve damage. My cat got worse...even on the medicines, being confined to one room, massages...I started questioning if they even looked at my baby. The other night he had a hard time getting into his litter box,i modified it for the night and called another vet (Cross on Hill rd) and got him in. This doctor does an actual physical in front of us, and let's us have it. Schwarts should have told us that he would have a 10% chance being independent again even on the medicine, the damage was too bad. why couldnt you tell us that from the get go?!?On top of that AMOXICILLIN?? that's for infections and colds...i brought you a cat with a limp leg, not a sick one!!!.My boy didn't have a chance. We had to put him down yesterday.

I have been going to the Veterinary Medical Hospital since the 80's for all my dogs, back when the older gentlemen owned the business. Which was ran wonderfully. He was humorous, gentle, very kind, concerned, and caring toward the pets. Since then, a new owner or the business has been passed down to a new generation. However, the hospital seems a bit rushed and not as compassionate as before. I took my dog there yesterday for a check-up, tooth exam, and a booster. When I entered the exam room, I was asked to put my dog on the scale and my dog being nervous, he squirmed and wouldn't stay still on the scale. The Doctor said "Oh he is 7.5 lbs." I tried to explain to the doctor that I had just weighed him in the waiting room and he was 6.2 lbs. He ignored me and continued to say "Yeah must have gained weight" He jotted down the inaccurate weight and proceeded to look in my dogs mouth. The doctor forcefully pried his mouth open and said "Yup he's going to need all of his teeth pulled." The doctor had NO compassion. I felt rushed, and bothersome to him. He was more concerned about getting to the next room. Then my dog's bad teeth and bad breath. So, now I am very concerned about having him perform the extractions on my dog of ten years of age. I have heard that there can be serious complications with him being older. I wasn't given a pamphlet or a printout about the procedure. I was not satisfied with this visit AT ALL! As I said before, I've been coming here for over twenty years and I have noticed a decline in their customer services and compassion toward the animals. I will give them four starts for the previous years I have been coming there and no stars for my current visit. I think they need to either get more staff or add longer hours to accommodate everyone with compassion and concern.

Best vets in Genesee County!! Prices are super reasonable too! I highly recommend this office I take my cat there and I'm always able to get her in the same day. The vets are honest and never pressure you in to services that are not necessary. The are not in it for the money like some vets. The office is simple and clean. If you're looking for an expensive upscale, ritzy office this isn't the place for you. However if you're looking for great prices, great vets and great service you can't go wrong. This place is the best!

Never ever use the Vet Hospital on Miller Rd. They gave me a wet unfinished paw print of my dog which I paid for and told me to bake it at home. When I asked for a refund he refused stating he would take it home and bake it and I could come back. When I told him I'm 7 mths pregnant and coming once was hard enough and I'd prefer not to come again he told me fine refund her and refuse future services since $15 dollars means so much to her. I have been a loyal customer for 13 years. This was the owner and the worst service ever! NEVER USE THE VET HOSPITAL ON MILLER Rd.

I am not a regular client. I called about 2 weeks ago in regards to having my 20 year old dog euthanized. The girl I spoke to was very polite and told me to call ahead and they could have paperwork ready so I wouldn't have to wait around and I would get in a room as soon as I arrived. I have had my dog for 18 years and this is a very emotional task. However, when I called today to make arrangements for tomorrow, the female I spoke to was argumentative and not sympathetic one bit. She proceeded to tell me how she is sure that nobody told me I could make an appointment because they do not do that for what I need done. And then said " it takes two seconds to print up paperwork and there will probably be a line when you get here. That's just how we do things here" . So after this experience over the phone with a rude and insensitive person I will NEVER become a client and I will make sure I refer people else where. Losing a pet is hard enough, let alone having to take them in yourself and have it done. Her unsympathetic self should not be working for a vet clinic. After 18 years I don't need my last experience with my dog to be worse than it already will be because someone wants to argue about what I was told and tell me I am wrong in what I am saying. The reason I picked taking him there in the first place was because of what the other girl told me. They cremate there also. Although their price is way cheaper I will be going and paying double or even triple what I would there in order to have a sympathetic visit. And it will be worth every penny!! Shame on her. I do not recommend this vet. My mother does go there but that is about to stop as well. Whoever it was that I spoke with is sure bad for business.
