The more you deal with Frankenmuth credit union, the less you like then and the more you're going to want to switch. It's a total waste of time. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER!! They're going to ruin your credit with hard inquiries over no positive result. 111,000 gross income, over a 740 credit score, perfect mortgage payment history, but yet denies a credit card. Mortgage officer Billy Watchthorn is more concerned about going golfing than answering your questions as well. This place is a Joke!!!!!!

I have been part of far more CU's and banks than I'd ever care for; But FCU has been the one that has been by far the easiest and most consistent to work with. The ones writing bad reviews complaining about fees and whatnot, indirectly claim that they didn't read the terms and/or don't understand them. That's not on the CU. IS FCU perfect? No. No business is. However, they will listen and work with you if you aren't arrogant and angry at them for you not doing the bare minimum yourself first.

I've used this credit union (this branch solely) for going on 9 years now. I have been completely happy with it in every regard, which I'll elaborate on below.
From an overall summary: 10/10
Highly recommend for any financial needs.
Services used: Mortgage financing, auto financing, banking
First are some shout outs:
-Molly McFadden:
Extremely helpful for going on 6 years of asking her for help. Knowledgeable, super fast to respond, and she has helped me countless times, often with things that aren't even her job anymore! She truly prioritizes customers.
-Brad Gnatkowski:
Despite always being extremely busy (this is very common of high performers!), he always finds time to help you out. We worked through him for a few mortgage loans/refinances, and despite the very turbulent nature of the market, he is always spot on with his numbers and estimates. He's gotten us great rates, always quickly responds to my random rate-question emails, and he's been a pleasure to work with.
-Steve Masker:
Steve is a great guy, and if you need some investment help I'd recommend paying him a visit. I've met with him to discuss investment options and he was very knowledgeable, providing a ton of resources for consideration without even asking.
-Steve Hill:
Worked recently with him on transferring an auto loan. Less history here, but I was pleased working with him. Attentive, responsive, and very helpful.
Other Misc:
-Drive through ATM's are very convenient with check-deposit options to save you from going into the branch
-Branch is very nice inside -- has Keurig coffee and water free while waiting for services, aesthetically pleasing

I’ve had a few issues with them, but they always are quick to fix them and will do whatever to make it right. They have changed a lot recently, but the service I wouldn’t get anywhere else

I tried different kinds of savings accounts with FCU across four years. FCU has rules that other credit unions don’t have. Further, they don’t communicate them well. I received confusing email and form letters and seemed to reach a competent employee about 35% of the time. In 2024, I cannot recommend FCU in good faith.

WARNING Terrible but they treat you nicely while suprising you with late fees and not informing stipulations to the skip a pay on a car payment, until your stuck with a $1400 bill even after the gap claim check clears. Decent people would explain what truly the skip a pay is not just collect interest and laugh their way into profit. Every payment was made over the phone not once did they ever mention a late fee just added to the end of the loan quietly shady practices. I feel dirty ever giving them my buisness. moral to this read all your terms and conditions cause banks like this love to slip stuff in there.

Best bank I’ve ever worked with! I work for a dealership and have all my loans through them. John Stauffer is great! Always very responsive and helpful with anything I’ve asked from them.

Have a payment plan through national debt,yet they insist on garnishment on top of that. I lost the ability to work full time if at all and yet even after discussing it and them saying they wouldn't here we are doing it again
