Cold Stream Farm is a bare root tree and shrub nursery that has been in operation since 1978. They specialize in growing conifers, trees, shrubs, ferns, and grasses, and ship throughout the United States and Canada. Customers have praised the nursery for their high-quality and affordable trees, as well as their exceptional customer service. One customer, who ordered around 1000 evergreens and crabapples, was amazed at the health of the saplings and only lost a couple. They also noted the importance of preparing the soil, using mycorrhizae, and watering for the successful growth of bare root trees. Additionally, Cold Stream Farm has been commended for their proper handling and shipping of bare root stock, with some customers receiving trees in great condition and ready for planting. Customers appreciate the prompt and helpful customer service, and many say they will order again. The nursery is recommended for those looking for a reliable source of quality trees and shrubs. However, some recent experiences highlight issues with responsiveness and order delays, especially during busy seasons, which can impact planting plans. Despite this, the nursery continues to be known for good prices on quality plants.
Bought 20-some trees in 2021. 5 years later, the only ones that haven’t survived and thrived are the ones I didn’t protect from deer.
