Went in to do a ffl transfer and they ladies behind the counter just seemed like it was an inconvenience for them. Told me I should go to the sheriffs office. Drove an hour out of my way for nothing. One of the biggest dealers up here and you’re telling me you can’t do simple ffl transfer for a fee, quite embarrassing.

Surprisingly full sporting goods store with a huge selection. Had anything and everything you may need for the outdoors. Clothing selection and brands were really great as well. Would definitely return the next time we’re in the area. Was obviously a favorite with the locals as there were many waiting outside for the store to open!

Worth the trip. Huge selection of guns and archery. Good prices. Smaller scale Cabelas or Bass Pro, but seems as thpugh they actually have more inventory. Only gripe is that they have all ammo behind counter and have to ask for it. Otherwise my new favorite spprting goods warehouse to visit.

I had an issue with a new trolling motor and Joe and John in the fishing department told me to return it to the store. They resolved the problem imediately. They were very conscientious and customer oriented. I am a happy customer!

Great sporting goods store. I make the drive to the Clare location even though I live close to the big expensive competitor. Love the selection of knives they have on hand. Staff is always friendly and willing to help!

Always a great location to stop at, either heading up or coming back from a northern vacation. The store is clean and the staff is very helpful. They also have one of the best pocket knives selections in northern Michigan. They happen to also be connected to one of the best donut shops anywhere! Can't miss stop if you are in the area.

Jays is an excellent place to fulfill all of your hunting needs. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I went into jays for some fly fishing equipment and Joe was able to go above and beyond for me.

Krista at the Gaylord shoe department was wonderful. She helped my husband find shoes that fit. She spent about 20 minutes going back and forth . Wonderful asset to your team

I cannot believe how bad the customer service was today while I was in there looking to purchase two gun holsters. I was in there looking at various holsters for at least 15 minutes and not one of the five people working behind the counter asked if I needed any assistance. They just continue to talk amongst themselves and when I finally asked them if they have any other holsters I was told “yeah around the corner over that way”. Yet during that same timeframe there was two other gentlemen that were offered assistance after I was already looking around at the holsters. This is not the first time I’ve had this happen in the same department.

Has a bit of everything in this store. Thought some stuff was really expensive and other average in price marked. Seemed to have A LOT of staff working but not one person asked us if we needed help while we were there for about a half hour. There were papers all in the middle of the main isle and staff would just look at them and walk by without picking them up, we must have seen 10+ workers walk by them. Staff seemed lazy and bored to be there, so not impressed by that at all!! Left without buying anything and probably won't be back by what we saw and how it was run. Lost costumers, not good for sales!!

Jays sporting goods is always a great stop when traveling north!! It is a Michigan mainstay and I love doing business with local stores. Great selection of outdoor gear, clothing, and hunting supplies!!
